I hated seeing that happen when I recently visited.  A woman was fat checked and she didn't make it, but what sucked was that her husband appeared, at least to me, to be about the same size and they didn't fat check him.  It sucked to see because they waited 40 minutes to ride, and I could tell she was a fine because she was taking so many pictures and going nuts.  I can't imagine this is going to turn out well when people are waiting for a couple of hours only to be told they can't ride.

For those who were wondering, the Wizarding World did open to the rest of the park guests after the private preview ended.  Also, one Twitter user pointed out she could access the area using the side pathway connecting to Springfield.  They didn't check for a wristband inside.  Not sure if Universal will try to have more security along that side in the future.  I guess it depends if too many people figure that out and start abusing it.

Looks like they are painting trees on the backside of Shrek 4D. Possibly the worst way to handle sight lines and they did it. https://twitter.com/JeffDePaoli/status/710248599116845056

I personally prefer a blank canvas. Be careful what you wish for...

I still think they should have invested in more mature fir trees for that berm behind Shrek 4D.

In regards to the 3rd seat deal on forbidden journey, I can confirm that it is in fact the 3rd seat from the left that is the "bigger" seat. As a big man myself when I riding I was pulled at both the primary and secondary test seats and both times I got a luke warm "you probably won't fit and it's for your safety" type spiel. But they ride ops proceeded to let me board in the loading area and lo and behold I fit in the 3rd seat and was able to ride Forbidden Journey for the first time. I did have a friend with me who was able to help quickly push down on the lap-bar when I couldn't pull it down any further. If you're upfront about it the ride ops will generally try to help you as much as they can (meaning they'll allow you to get to the loading area), they legally can't push the bar down for you so it's best to bring someone with you if you're unsure that you'll fit.

Do people prefer a blank canvas versus a mural of trees?

In regards to the fat checks, I was actually asked to try the seats outside forbidden journey last Saturday to see if I fit...not sure why, as I'm about a size 10/12...I have never gotten a fat check before (I didn't even know parks did that), so that was weird...Employee was pretty rude, too. At around 7pm, I went back to forbidden journey and decided to ride it a 3rd time that day. I told the employee I was a single rider and she ignored me and asked if I could follow her to check to see if I would be safe on the ride..Afterwards, she rudely told me there were no such thing as a single rider line for forbidden journey..which was weird since the past 2 times I rode it there were..hmm..

Hmmm, well that's rude. If you got her name, I would definitely tell guest services. And yes, there is a single rider line. Just before the regular line and to the left. In Orlando, I encountered a pretty rude TM and Universal should definitely take note of this. It was a lady outside of the Hogsmeade Hogwarts Express Station and was having to explain to another guest what it was and was saying it in a rude, mocking tone. She then started screaming at a guest who simply went under the chain to get with their party.

No it wasnt. It was SUPPOSED to be WB only, then they opened to the public at around 415pm. If it was a mix in prior to 415pm, it's because people snuck in. And they did catch on. We were asked to show wristbands for rides etc around 3pm. When we asked why, they said security caught people trying to sneak in.

Not sure, I guess not. Once outside guests were quite literally running into like it was Black Friday we left the area. It was a great time until that point.

Seems like your chances are good that tomorrow around 4 it will open to the public.

Haha, that Black Friday at Hogwarts visual is  great!  I love it!  People fighting over the last sale-priced Nimbus 2000, wizards having their packages stolen in the parking lot, etc. Lol.  Were there a lot of people rushing in at 4?  I'm still debating trying it out.  But maybe they would lock it down tighter tomorrow (wondering if they only opened it up to avoid having to deal with people sneaking it).  There are still lots of other things to do at Uni even if it doesn't open... and a break would be nice. I'm only 90 minutes away, so it won't be a big deal to return to Potter later in the year (maybe mid-Sept).

I think I might prefer painted trees as opposed to a blank canvas, but it would've been better to just do a stone mural like the one next to the Herbology Greenhouses.

These better be the most photo-realistic painted trees in the history of painted trees.
