Yea.. I asked my friend about that castle tours just after I posted that, since she's a total Potter nerd, I knew she would know haha.. I guess I never noticed we offered it mostly due to the fact that I ONLY used the single rider line for FJ, resulting in never seeing any of the castle outside of the talking Portrait room... From what she told me, the castle tour isn't a free-for-all walk right in thing, you actually had to ask, then they escort you through it. However, apparently she has not seen them do the tours lately.

Yea, detailed areas in the parks are great... but I'm looking forward to being able to have one thing again.... Butterbeer lol. I expect us to have the "warm butterbeer" option from day one, which will be nice during those cool summer nights -_-  & in the fall/winter.. Too bad we won't see Butterbeer ice cream though.

Yes yes! But before they decide on taking the wall around Hogsmeade down, I really do wish for more landscaping especially on the left side of the entrance where you can see the back side of the Speingfield food venue.

Yeah, I absolutely think they'll keep adding more and more landscaping. It adds so much, and something USH has always lacked.

If Springfield begins operations this Saturday, they still have a week to add more trees to cover up the new backstage entrance.

Don't get your hopes up for that much more landscaping additions over there, since that is a backstage access gate. I'll try to dig up that one over-the-wall pic that was posted a while back which showed the layout. There really is only room for a few more trees along the wall of WWOHP/backstage up until the gate. Its the downside of the way things have to be built in this park... its not like they can have secret underground tunnels like Magic Kingdom at WDW for employees to travel through ......well... nah.. lol

We understand it's a backstage entrance; from the photos JPLA has posted there is still a modicum of landscaping yet to be done that should partially block the view of that general area inbetween the Foodcourt and Hogsmead from Production Central and future entrance to Hogsmead. (obviously not completely[it will still be an improvement though])

You can have a backstage access gate and have more landscaping and trees........I've seen the layout and the details. Obviously they weren't going to plant a whole forest in the two feet between Springfield and Hogsmeade, but they'll plant a few more trees to fill it out more....

I don't see any downside in this, Universal is doing a fantastic and creative job of placing two lands side by side and are making fantastic use of the space. More isn't always better. Sometimes too much land and space can make something more bland and expansive. Look at Disneyland VS. Magic Kingdom.

I don't want the Castle Tour like Japan's. It made the Regular queue line shorter and less detailed.

What exactly was less detailed in the regular queue? It looked 100% identical on video. I want it because 1. USH can probably use it to artificially boost its attraction count and 2. It's great for fans or guests who literally can't do the ride.

I think he means that it shortens the regular queue (physically) and doesn't leave enough time for actual riders to see all of the details along the way.

That's what I got out of it, at least.

Interesting....then I hope it isn't the case...but either way, I think it's important to have the Castle Tour.

I don't really care for it. It really is a nice option for those who don't want to ride, but I probably wouldn't ever use it unless I decided to take lots of photos in the queue someday.

I won't care for it either. Like I said, I'd love it as an option for those who can't do the ride but want to experience some of the magic and detail of Hogwarts.

Like, I know my grandma would love the castle tour.

Pardon the blurriness in these photos as I took them with my phone, but did you guys receive this promotion for Universal with WWOHP and Springfield, F&F, and the Nighttime Tour?

No, I haven't! But I'll check my mailbox. Universal has been horrible about sending those to me, cuz no one in this massive company of theirs can help me register my new annual pass under my existing AP account online that is connected to my home address.

It was actually just plain mail, but you're definitely right in that they aren't great with promo e-mails haha.

Owlery tower gets its first owl door.  At least I assume that's what that is.

Yes, exactly. Japans portrait room for the tour is larger then it is for the regular Queue (or something like that) and so on (At least what I have heard from some podcasts/reviews)

Does anybody know the weight restrictions for FJ? My best friend is a huge HP fan but is on the fluffier side and I would be devasted if he couldn't ride.. This is also a reason why I think the castle tour is crucial..
