Yeah, the residential plan was moronic....the emphasis now is a better theme park and a better studio environment and better studio facilities to give production companies an incentive to stay in California.

Personally, as huge of a Harry Potter as I am, I do NOT want to see anymore Potter in Hollywood after "Phase 1".....ever. Even if they eventually for some reason want to use Falls Lake and a part of the backlot for theme park expansion, I'd want it to be used for a different franchise...

I am ok with not getting the Gringotts bank coaster as long we get something that uses the same ride system and technology. Let California get all the cool toys but just theme them differently.

Meanwhile cranky old Miss B is still loathing WWoHP and wishes it would stay the hell out of Hollywood... While I'm at it with wishful thinking I also want my Graveyard Revue back.

In all seriousness I'm still not expecting phase 2 at the moment either. I'm not willing to say they're putting it in, not even tentatively. Maybe I'll think about it after phase 1 but right now it's just all speculation so I don't think I could even hazard guesses about placement or anything.

heres the response and a most likely thing. remember when unversial said they would fix problems. with the games and we do know it will be gone so now i believe postiviely believe that they will use some of that space for a second ollivander room because capacity will go to hell with a lot of guests so my thoughts are with ollivanders they will use some of the games for it and then the broomsticks will need to have some space so they might close down the spanish place but remake the facade to simpsons on that side and there would be more space for the broomsticks as its a little big so they need to flex the space to put where the outdoor area with fountains are (not the plaza and you know what i'm talking about) and it would be fine. then the main ride. they will go transformers making the building a little more taller to accomadate the ride itself. and then the easy one hippogriff. it will be in the grass space of entry to gibson and there could be a chance of another potter entry but for there where gibsons entry is not betting on that but we'll see. now am i fine with no gringotts... yes i'm all fine as red said let us get them to but we'll expand upon it which could lead me to (going a little off topic) replacing the mummy and remaking it for a v2 with the ride system. (off the off topic train) I hope that this might be a little reasonable why i made hogsmeade a little more bigger and my thoughts on hippogriffs location near gibsons entry and thanks jon for that idea of going the tf route which we'll see...

Okay. Here's a few things that will hopefully clear some facts up. (1) In an internal press release to Warner Bros. employees days after the announcement, the park stated that are bringing Forbidden Journey, Hogsmeade, and other attractions (Ollivander's). (2) Three Broomsticks is rumored to not be part of the expansion due to the Great Hall restaurant being included in the West Coast version (speculation, but makes sense). (3) With some heavy floorplan adjustments (moving the queue to a different part of the show building, etc), Forbidden Journey can be built right on top of Gibson (If they did it for Transformers East, they can do it for FJ West). Unless some land is used outside of Curious George/Gibson, don't expect to see Hippogriff in WWoHP (Hogsmeade is small but FJ is MASSIVE. Those two alone are making any proposed layout within the land a nightmare), especially on the edge of the hill due to the unlimited noise complaints that the neighbors will give.

I'm pretty damn sure we're getting Hippogriff. Round of butterbeer on me for everyone if we don't get Hipppgriff. The can squeeze in thr coaster in any remainder space, and since it will be a custom coaster, it doesn't have to be a clone of the one in Florida, besides for the theme. So they can still have it, and it would help with capacity.

I also hope we get the Three Broomsticks. Even if it's a smaller three broomsticks, but I want it. As for the Great Hall, that'd be amazing if they included it and had a City Walk AND Theme Park entranc as rumored. Would be one helluva experience. But the Great Hall is huge. I can only see them including it if it was closer to City Walk.

We'll see :)

I completely agree. A hypothetical "phase 2" is so far off into the future that I don't even think it's worth talking about. It would be an oversaturation of Potter in one small park, and I'd rather they focus on other UNIVERSAL properties ;) Let's make a Universal Monsters ride already!

Ok. We have to realize that USH is not going to bring in anything original for the park (Intellectual Properties only) due to the lack of space. we've seen this in Florida already. If it succeeds in Florida, you'll maybe see it in California. Example: Forbidden Journey would have never ever ever ever been built here first because of the amount of space and risk riding on it. As nice as it would be, a Uni Monsters dark ride will only happen if (1) USF successfully opens one, or (2) a smash Uni monsters reboot comes to theaters. In other words, learn to love HoH (as bad as it is) as the tribute to Uni Monsters in USH.

Hopefully T-5 is the great hall restaurant, USH need a sit-down restaurant

Also since the park should have 9 rides by the time potter arrives hope people would stop complaining about USH needing more rides, and also about coasters( I think 2 is enough)

Studio tour

SSFL flat ride

Transformers.

Jurassic park.

Mummy.

Forbidden journey.

Hippogriff

Despicable me.

Simpsons

Other attractions

Waterworld

Dinoplay

Blues brothers

Minion play area

Sfx stage

Animal actors

House of horrors

NBC universal experience

Shrek

That roster already looks 1000x better than what was there in 2010:

House of Horrors

Terminator

Animal Actors

Simpsons

Studio Tour

Waterworld

Jurassic Park

Mummy

Backdraft

Special Effects V.1

Since the show helps to sell more wands, I think it's a no brainer.

Will the olivanders at USH be smaller or larger than IOA's?

I would expect a bigger Olivanders to accommodate the high demand. But I also expect that a couple of the shops from Florida will be cut from our Hogsmeade to make room.

Well aware of that bud ;) Just wishful thinking on my part. But as the Universal parks become more successful and popular, I think maybe eventually we'll see a more original ride concept. And considering Universal Monsters are a Universal brand and monsters and and anything horror theme is popular thanks to HHN, I think an immersive E Ticket based on Universal Monsters would be extremely popular, in Florida or Hollywood. No new movie necessary (although it would help). Just hypothetical and wishful thinking.

I sort of agree, especially regarding Olivanders, but regarding cutting other shops, I don't see it happening. The shops are super small anyway, and the merchandise sells hotter than Despicable Me and Mickey Mouse combined, so I don't they'll want to cut profits ;)

I don't think the space Hollywood is using for Hogsmeade is big enough for all of the shops. Because of this I think they will just build the ones they think will be the most profitable at first. Then later down the road they could build more shops as part of Potter phase 2.

I think it'll be enough space....the shops are very small, and if you consider the area from Studio Souvenirs to carnival games, and then extended all through Curious George, I think it's enough room. Again, we'll see...let's wait till the walls go up, because we're going in circles for now.

Carnival Games is not Potter, just FYI.

As for the whole Screamscape "Phase II" thing... uhh no. Once Potter is done, the lower lot will be revisited for the first time in four years.
