Why would they?

My question was could, not would. Would they? Most likely not. Could they? Possibly. Just stating that just because it was refurbed recently does not guarantee it will stay a la Poseidon. I do understand the situations are different, and not insinuating Transformers is leaving. More so hyperbole, that it could happen if they really wanted to.

This refurb was an expensive one. Those elevator lifts for the ride vehicles are not cheap. If they wanted to get rid of it, they would’ve skipped this refurb.

Very different situation. When they refurbished PF, they weren't planning for a major hurricane to force an early closing a couple years later.

See I am more wondering if the IP, of Transformers, leaves in a few years depending on how the Hasbro licensing is; more than the attraction going.

Ensuring they can quickly retrofit the attraction, but keep everything it has to be quick and efficent, would be a win of some kind.

I just can’t imagine that licensing fee is that expensive, right? and if it was, what company in the united states is able and willing to fork over that kind of money years after the film series has financially peaked?

Paramount needs every penny it can scrounge up.

I know some here want to will it into leaving, but I don't think the ride is going anywhere.

I can be wrong and maybe someone else can correct me (I feel like @Parkscope Joe can); but Transformers...isn't a IP that goes through that of Paramount.

I had been under presumption, that for all intents and purposes the theme park licensing for Transformers goes towards that of Hasbro's--and not that of Paramount directly. I can be absolutely wrong on that--but I had sworn Hasbro licensing is a weird sort.

Nope. Paramount absolutely has a stake and say in the Transformers characters within the Universal parks because they’re derived from the Paramount film franchise.

If Hasbro ended up partnering with a different studio down the line and rebooted the series (again), then it’s less clear if they could license those versions of the characters elsewhere. (It’s very probable there’s some sort of clause that allows Universal to exclusively use the Transformers characters in parks/permanent LBE, regardless of what studio they’re linked to, written into their existing agreement, which would make the whole thing moot.)

Regardless, Hasbro probably doesn’t have any interest in terminating the agreement sooner than they need to, either. It’s free money and advertising for one of their most prominent brands.

TF is back open!

I am glad to be wrong--3D has been kept in place for this attraction. Additionally ontop of the Projector upgrades; they did a total lighting overhaul with the ride.

100% this. Trust me I would love for it not to have come back from refurb, especially with its prime real estate next to Nintendo.

But it’s not to be. I’ve shifted my hopes over to an even older ride that I hope gets either upgraded or replaced (looking at you Imhotep).

Oh sweet! Glad it’s back! I was getting Transformers withdrawals! Might try to swing by the park right after to work to see how it is!
