Scott did an hour long interview for FNAFs 10th anniversary earlier this month, and he was asked about collaborations. He said that he’s much more open to them now then 10 years ago, but that it’s really important and difficult that he maintains the series identity and integrity.

He also said the biggest challenge in getting a movie script right was balancing the animatronics roles as the threat, and as confused children who don’t actually have evil intentions. If I had to guess, HHN fell through this year because Scott had similar issues with the story. The second film will have way more animatronics, all of which are just straight up evil, so I think waiting for a sequel to do an HHN house might end up being the right move anyway.

He spoke very highly of Universal and Blumhouse and mentioned being excited to work together more, so I don’t think it was necessarily some big fight that led to FNAF not showing up at the event this year

I would be seriously disappointed if they didn’t include horror IPs on the HHN stage and subject them to Fan Fests.

I kind of wonder with that--if they might try to do a way to keep either Weeknd or Ghostbusters around for FFN.

Given Universal welcoming Ghostbusters back more and more; it might be an interesting element of consideration (same goes to Weeknd due to the new album and what will likely be North America getting a tour once it drops).

I get this feeling a lot of you are setting yourselves up for major disappointment with such grand expectations for a park that doesn't fully deliver.

This is the same park that promoted the return of the "Runaway Train" for the 60th Anniversary. All we got was them relocating it to sit on the Breaking Bridge & blow smoke.

And as for the anime part. Downplaying anime & saying it's "too niche" is laughable. You put anime in USH (and promote it), you'll have the "Field of Dreams" effect- "if you build it, they will come". Besides, have you not seen the AnimeExpo crowds!? SoCal (and beyond) is filled with that demographic

As for what Universal Japan does, they just know how to market it to make you want it. The U.S. marketing fails (except for Six Flags running over Mr Six)

I just find it hard to believe this fan fest will have more than the photos, food/drink, and characters around the park. Idk hopefully this isn’t such a money grab as I think it is!

I mean thats all good but.....actions speak louder then words

You like Universal and HHN then why nothing this year? Like cool you don't want a house

Meet and greet? Show? Even an exhibit with set prices, costumes and the characters?

While I know FNAF had a big base before its even bigger now after the film and very very strange not to have one of Universal biggest films of last year not at all be apart of Halloween this year

I hope the creator finds a a way to get these characters into Universal because they would be hugeeee hits if they did a show, house and I think even a meet and greet would get insane lines

Wishful thinking here, but I think it would be DOPE if they brought back T2:3D into the Dream Works Theater. There would have to be a few tweaks to make it work, but the infrastructure is mostly there to make it work.

For now, I think they’ll probably utilize a Star Trek show for that venue.

I figured someone would mention it but I guess not lol T2:3D would be fairly impossible in Dreamworks. We all forgetting the live action element? People jump in and out of the screen! A stage with raised platforms for effects and um -- DRIVING A MOTORCYCLE ON IT. There also wouldn't be much space to even do the pre-show.

Yea.. and that definitely would NOT be "super".

Ugh I miss T23D. Along with it's T-1,000,000 engulfing fog explosion.

I don’t think they will ever do Freddy pizza as a venue… the most I see them doing anything with fnaf is what we got already. Props and maybe picture cut outs… maybe merch. By the time that happens I feel like the fandom would have also died down by then

I think your undervaluing the audience-gauge that FNAF can have (also could've sworn it has been speculated that Universal actually tried to go for FNAF for this year's HHN).

lol

The base was fine last year. People make these big deals about certain bases and forgot there are literally fist fights at most major sporting events but are like FNAF and Rick and Morty fans are bad.......I've never seen those bases literally get in in a fight with someone
Anyway if they could do a Meet and greet even, I think the lines would be huge. Also lets not kid out selves if FNAF was in this years HHN event it would destroy the other houses lines...easily 90+ mins all night.

I know the creator is difficult but hopefully Universal can slowly wear him down until they find a middle point and give us more FNAF and while I doubt it it would be cool if this event had a house or two, like how Six Flags has its mid year haunt.

Now with HHN in play and the results of A Quiet Place now publicly visible; I wonder if the quality of our experience is what allowed Paramount to say yes to having Star Trek announced as part of the initial "Set".

Makes me genuinely interested to see where they go with Star Trek, what kind of experience they can go with on a quality level to AQP.

Now would be a good time to ask @Brian G. but, with Fan Fest Nights having the similarities to HHN as it does; will we have dedicated threads for the specific IP's?

So is this a maze/house/walkthrough like HHN? I’m not a Star Trek fan, but this is so fun.
