Nos preocupa sinceramente el reto de conciliar la construcción masiva de un nuevo parque temático con el ecosistema local. Hay que considerar el impacto inevitable: la contaminación acústica, la contaminación lumínica, la gestión del agua y los residuos. Además, está la crucial cuestión de respetar la flora y la fauna locales, incluyendo potencialmente las especies en riesgo o en peligro de extinción en esa zona específica.

Sabemos que el Reino Unido tiene leyes ambientales y de contaminación muy estrictas (y con razón). Cumplir con estas estrictas regulaciones para garantizar el equilibrio ecológico podría generar importantes preguntas y posibles retrasos. Se trata de un obstáculo complejo que creemos que debe abordarse.

The last update from universal said SDO early December? I'm hoping the announcement is imminent.

They can lay the statutory instrument any day Parliament is sitting (and it doesn’t require any kind of notification or committee session), so Thursday 18th would be the last chance before Christmas. Intriguingly I note a private sitting of the Statutory Instrument Joint Committee on 17 December, but could be nothing…

I thought that was the case but a couple of SIs were tabled during the summer recess this year (this, for example), so now I'm not sure that the SI needs Parliament to be sitting for the legislative niceties of approving the SDO to take place.

The Joint Committee on Statutory Instruments is also sitting on the 10th December, so that's another opportunity for the government to get the SI tabled this month.

So, with the possibility of DC comics getting some space in the UK park, what do you want to see? Something completely new or a rebranded Superhero Island like they recently did with Transformers in China?

If Universal does get ahold of the DC Comics license, I hope they go all-out with it. I think the dream is the see an "immersive" land with the same level of care as the Wizarding Worlds or Epic's lands. I feel like neither Disney, Universal, or Six Flags have come close to the full potential that a superhero land could really have. If given the right amount of care and investment, it could have the potential to be the anchor land of Universal UK.

Not sure why you’re arguing against the project in Bedfordshire, but Universal released a public proposal which was approved by the local government that laid out detailed plans for preserving local wildlife, mitigating traffic impacts, sound, pollution, and various other impacts on residents for miles. It was hundreds of pages long and extremely thorough.
