In Japan they seem to be using mostly Kanto but when the ghost are out its only like Gingar from generation 1, so seems like they are open to having more Pokemon then the first 151

As long as they're selling Pikachu and Eevee, I suspect they can do whatever they want!

The new TV series, Horizons, is much less region-anchored than Ash's adventures were. That probably gives them more freedom to incorporate Pokémon (and associated lore) from all over. CBBC has a lot of the Pokémon series (including the new Horizons) so I would expect a lot of kids growing up now to be familiar with the world of Pokémon.

Pokemon cards to this day have people scalping full boxes in the US

Pokemon is the biggest IP in the world by a long shot making more then Mickey and Friends and Winnie the Pooh combined

Some people might not be into Pokemon but the Pokemon Go literally was on the news for months because of how it was affecting real life and the Pokemon Card game made insane money last year

Its clear that Pokemon is a generational World wide phenomenal still, I love Universal got Nintendo but....Pokemon could affect Universal even more then adding Nintendo stuff to the parks. Which is insane and why if they don't try to add Pokemon in some way to most parks, it would be an insane business move

Not sure if anyone would be intrested as not a build update or speculation.

Cant see they would be able to enforce this is drone is being flown from a public space ans the operators have line of sight. Dont think the argument there using of filming people on the site breaches data act holds water either as again if you can see from public spaces is completely legal.

No, but so far a couple of the regulars/semi-regulars have said they plan to honour the request not to fly. One other has indicated they'll carry on as
they believe they were operating inside the law.

eg, ProjectUniversal saying they're going to pivot their content to the wider Bedford area to become 'Project Bedford' instead, so having the 'desired effect' Universal wanted.
Personally, feels like a dick move by Universal - they should 100% address any genuine poor airmanship, but would rather they worked with them rather than against them. eg "Hey, only fly on a Sunday when we're not about please"

I'm of the mind that when things have calmed down and the idiots who can't use their drones responsibly have stopped antagonising the workers, things will revert to how they are now.

I wasnt saying its right or wrong. I have no objection to project Universal protecting himself or making sure he keeps in good with the company. My point is I dont think they can legally stop it. Getting restricted airspace in the uk is extremely difficult, and then my understanding would be it would only cover the air above the site. Not to mention how it would look in papers like the daily fail etc if they then start trying to take "our basic freedoms" of filming in public spaces.

I think this is a bit of a tight rope. I understand why they've said it. But if they dont go about it in ths right way it could be used against them.

Cant trespass people on public land. While the footpath is closed, if someone is on that, then they have everything right to remove, byt on public land they cant enforce it

Don't know how it works there, but a private company here can refuse entry to their business if they do not follow their rules. I think that's the real purpose of the C&D letter.

Yes they can refuse them entry here, but that' not the issue. If i was a drone operator, I can stand on any public land and fly that drone as long as I have line of sight. There are of course exceptions, near airports restricted areas etc, but other then that its perfectly legal. Universal wont get airspace restricted, for various reasons it wont happen. They cant stop you filming there staff or there land oe whats going on, as long as like I state above your on public property following all uk laws.

We had the same happening to a photographer who uses a drone to make content about Efteling (the Netherlands). It's is private ground so no one is allowed to fly their drone above that area. He could show he wasn't flying above their property but next to it. Where he flies the drone isn't above a populated area and so he was fine and got his drone back. I think that is fine and the right and safe thing to do.

How is that not the issue?

If you’re a channel covering Universal building near you, you’d probably be more devastated getting a lifetime ban than being hit with a fine, even if it were illegal.

Im sorry I think your missing what im saying, its not the fact that some of the people flying the drone have decided to respect what Universal have said. I even commented above that channels like Universal project should so what they feel is right to protect them and there channels.

The issue I have with this as it could become bad publicity for the whole project. There is nothing Universal can do to stop people flying drones at that site as long as it legal. For them to say stop this or we will ban you from the future park will not sit right with a groups of people in the uk.
