Krampus is coming to Horror Unleashed

Sounds like the announcement was premature. Says "Page not found".

If it is happening, I hope it's replacing Exorcist Believer. That was the weakest house there IMO.

I believe they announced that Krampus and other christmas creatures/elves and whatnot will be roaming characters with slight decorations to the hub/warehouse - not replacing a house.

Correct me if i'm wrong though, as that's what i thought i last heard!

Question: They don't allow in food/drinks but can you bring an empty water bottle or do they at least have fountains to drink from?

Also On Krampus we talked about it a month ago when announced but here is more info

I wonder how this has been doing through November. Maybe it's different for Vegas, but from my perspective the majority of interest in haunt attractions ends up drying up entirely after 10/31.

Park Journey just visited for his first time yesterday, and he said it was fairly crowded. Though waits for mazes were only about 5-10 min. FWIW, he also really enjoyed it (especially the lack of conga lines, and the fact you can take your time going through the mazes).

I'll be going myself late December

I have a little request, at 3 minutes in the video, it shows that they added some signage at the entrance lobby with some LT reports about the artifacts and the HHN lore, could anyone going to HU feel free to take some photos of that part? I’m a sucker for that type of stuff.

Maybe media day?

Finally have time to talk about this amazing Spin off park

I got the unlimited House pass and entered at 2 PM

I will give you a heads up not all houses open at 2ish....they one or two open each 15-30 mins and then the houses stay open for 45 mins and then have a 15 min break.

I was there from 2-9 PM. 7 Houses and saw the Jack/Chance show twice, saw a "side show" show and also saw the Krampus characters mini show a few times and meet them 2 or 3 times each. Went on each house 4 times each, so 16 house runs.

The only thing I didn't get to do was the Blumhouse restaurant, they had one server and the 15 wait became over an hour, so I went and got BBQ at a quick service instead. Not complaining but would have liked to eat there so maybe next time.

The actors walking around are great, they all have a different story and really love the guy with the mask walking around calling the other monsters weirdo's

The Krampus mini show is fun, I like the song playing and the costumes are pretty cool. Each Kin apart of the Krampus army is different was cool to meet all three main characters

House Reviews

Texas Chainsaw - I'm not a huge fan of the IP and never really loved any of the houses based on this IP at USH. That being said, I loved this house. This is the best version of this IP house I've ever been on.

Some fun moments include
1) A fake guest getting pulled into a room
2) Leatherface using a chauinsaw on a guy on a table
3) Walking through the house and multiple characters walking after you
4) Leatherface being able to run down halls at you through the house
5) Leatherface chasing you out of the house

I think this house makes you feel like the finale girl by the end, it was very well themed and just a fun house. For sure got me really good a few times on my first run and even after that having people be able to chase you is just so much fun and always makes my heart race

Exorcist: Believer - Not a huge fan of this movie but will say they did a good job with the small section on the terror tram so was open for this to be fun and it has its moments. I think it has some great moments but still might be the "weakest" house of the 4 but in no way for me its really a bad house.

Here are some of the fun moments in the house

1) I like the tree set with all the lights moving around like a bunch of people are using flash lights
2) The moment where they try to get the demon to come out and use lots of special effects
3) Without giving too much away the scareactor in the girls room, just a perfect placement of an actor
4) Being in the room with the two girls crawling on the floor then coming after you
5) The Demons at the end, some of them will walk after you which I love and some have such great creepy masks

Scarecrow - I love Scarecrow and my only real complain is no King Crow, I think they should add him to the end of the house. So yeah this was a great version of Scarecrow and think the ending corn maze is the best version of a "fake" cornfield I've ever seen. I think its hard to say if I liked this or Monsters house more but both are so amazing. I also liked the Q and being able to see the full house before going into the farm

Things I really enjoyed in the house

1) The actor under the stairs, one time he came at me....I swear he ran 15 feet and then followed me a room or two..love it
2) The duststorm room.....just got dam, this is sooooo cool and well done and great placement of actors
3) There is a room with something above you...you look and an actor is there trying to get you..and bam...some else attacks you.
4) The rooms before you get to the finale area has so many cool scarecrow designs and boo holes
5) The Finale room is a big Cornfield and the only thing missing is King crow but its really fun, and feels real and the actors are just intense.

Monsters - We did not get a monsters house this year but this filled that Inch. Love how all the monsters got at least a room...with a guess the exception of the bride kind of. The sets are all well done and each one feels different and in many ways...this is the ride I'd love to come to USH. A ride that lets you eat up the sets of your favorite monster films with iconic moments

Here are some cool moments

1) Seeing the Phantom's hand as you walk down a hall way towards him
2) Walking around the bell town, love the extra ropes for theming and just a great set overall
3) My boy Creature section, love the colors they use and because it was a low day will say some boo holes were not staffed but still a great room
4) Walking into Dracula's room was fun, its very theatrical
5) The Mummy section is well themed and like the one mummy putting his hand on the wall with all the bugs running down it.
6) The Wolfman section is well themed and like the projection of the Wolf after you enter
7) The Fankenstin moment was well done and fun, that actor goes nuts once the lights come back on...and the bride might also make an appearance

Most lines were 10ish mins and I waited maybe 25 mins for a house once but most the time was me waiting for the house to open.

The employee's were great to talk to and helpful.

I think Universal knocked this out of the park, pretty close for me of a 10/10 time. I hope they keep giving me reasons to come back and maybe allow filming. I know many are against it but here its YOU and your group thats it...so filming will allow people to post clips and hopefully make others want to come.

Also here is all the Krampus stuff if you can't make it, I got everything from the event that I could see from being there all day

I hope you enjoy it

I think funny enough many "influences" under sold it...or something was going wrong

Most reviews were like "i guess its cool but it should be more" for me the more is the fact that the houses get to be designed for smaller groups and make you feel like your in the movies.
It reminds me of going to Fright Fest at Six Flags but with a Universal Budget....I just loved every minute of it

We went tonight and loved every second of it. It wasn’t super busy so we got each run being just the two of us. Felt every house was amazing and loved how they had mini shows in the houses.

The Jack actor tonight was great at interacting with after the show.

Krampus parade and photos was also a 10/10.

We will definitely be back every time we’re in Vegas.

Just did my visit, have a lot of thoughts and pointers (mostly good!). The TL;DR version:
  • Had a great time overall. For the haunt enthusiast, I recommend unlimited maze visits. Casual fans, one is probably fine.
  • We stayed for 5 hours. This included visiting each maze 3-4 times and eating dinner.
  • Scan the QR code in front of most mazes to get operating, show, character times, and map (seen below). Mazes run for 45 min, then take 15 min breaks, but all mazes have their own unique schedule.

The details (and I posted many pics at my Bluesky if you want to see them), largely spoiler free--more operational tips and experiences:

I agree with everyone else with rankings, #4 Exorcist Believer, #3 TCM, Monsters and Scarecrow are virtually tied for me, though I give a slight edge to Monsters. But even Exorcist is not terrible. We did each maze 3-4 times.

If you're a haunt fan, you'll want to spend a lot of time here and do the mazes multiple times. The mazes are overall well-staffed, but like HHN on both coasts, there can be minor variations in run throughs. All mazes are supposed to have a "show" scene. TCM was very, very consistent with theirs. Exorcist tried, but sometimes would get backed up, and it could be hit or miss. Monsters actually paused and asked us if we'd like to see the how. Scarecrow kind of didn't even really bother, and just mostly made it another room. We did notice that there would be minor staffing differences between runs, which is why we recommend multiple runs if you are able to. For instance, there was one additional mini-show scene in TCM with Sally just before entering the woods that we only saw 2 times out of 4 run throughs.

Despite that, overall, the maze management and experience was generally consistent, and the differences wouldn't likely be super noticeable unless you're an uber fan. We went on a Sunday night after Christmas, so it wasn't too crowded... the longest line we had was maybe 15 min, and about 1/2 the time we were alone and walked right on. They do try to pulse in the guests with a 30-40 second pause between parties (they did not group parties, and you can go in alone if you're solo!), but even with these, when there was a line, we often did find ourselves running into other parties about half-way through mazes, creating an unwelcome conga line after all. They do allow photography in mazes, just no flash.

Be sure to explore the entire area first... when you enter, the first maze you see is Monsters, so it often gets a longer line for that reason, but you can do the mazes in any order you like. And if you are a scenery/design enthusiast, there's a LOT of props to see. They also are very good at generally having some sort of entertainment (show, performer, or characters) maybe every 15 min or less. It's pretty continuous. There are also some smaller, unannounced scene setting effects, like the two seen below (but they are not on any sort of schedule or anything).

There are roaming scareactors, but they are more of the "slow burn, we'll follow you intently and stare you down" type, and not the aggressive, in your face scareactors that we see in the Hollywood scare zones. Just before entering TCM, one of the scare actors grabbed a guest from line, tied him up (with the guest screaming, "This isn't part of the show!") and took a chainsaw to him. It was pretty funny, and just one of the many things that may just "happen" while you're there, and there's a bit of the luck of the draw of whether you get to see it all or not. But the longer you stay, the more you'll probably get to see.

We ate at the main restaurant, Premier House, and it was pretty good. You get character interactions either with Grabber or M3gan every 30 min, but you don't have to be a guest of the restaurant to go in and meet them. They also have a few props and photo ops there. The food wasn't bad, and shockingly affordable... most entrees were in the $14-16 range. I do wish it had a bit more theming, but we still enjoyed it.

Shopping is pretty good. About 40% of the items are things we've already seen at HHN/USH, but a lot was new to us, and there's a fair amount of specific merch. And each maze has it's own merch (though again, some of it repeated HHN/USH merch).

To me, the only major problem is that I think they should install monitors that list all the operating times for the mazes and shows. It was a real pain to keep checking my phone over and over again to see what mazes were open and when performances were going to happen. If think if that info were posted on monitors, it would make things a lot easier. I realize it may break some immersion, but they already have monitors at each maze location anyway (showing security cam footage!), so it wouldn't be tough for them to add operating times.

Last, but not least, when talking with one employee, they mentioned something that they admitted is unsubstantiated, but is a rumor nevertheless... but they want to get Terrifier as the next property there. If that ended up replacing Exorcist, that would be a pretty big get. And also seems like a no-brainer to me, if they can get it to work out. Again, this is NOT a credible rumor, just hearsay (literally the Dippin' Dots guy), but its one that makes a lot of sense to me.

Adding Art as a “permanent” walk around character would be huge for this. A maze would be fine, but it’s when he’s off leash that you really get the best of the character.

I wonder 1) what houses they replace (Exorcist? Scarecrow?) and 2) if once they find solid houses for each spot we enter a period of resting the refereshing to let it ride a bit or if they'll continue to refresh it.

Not sure

I really liked Scarecrow and would not want to to go yet

Exorcist for me was mostly good but also if I had to cut one for something new....thats the one I'd go for

I don't know if there is room but....I'm hoping they have room somewhere for a new house one day if the place ever becomes so busy it can have 5 houses during the peak seasons
