We'll see what it looks like when it opens and how much it costs. They're charging more than $100 for an adult ticket to Legoland (which is just ... I have no words). I think this will be quite a bit cheaper than that.

I hate being negative, but did anyone notice the immense lack of theming on some of the attractions in that video? In their initial press release Universal stated that the park would be "set in a lush green landscape featuring immersive themed lands."

It’s worth remembering we’re still in winter. Landscaping is typically one of the last phases, and in colder temps, a lot of planting probably hasn't happened yet.

I supposed to kids, this will be immersive, but it seems like Universal could have put in just a touch more effort?

I’m not convinced this is about effort; it's just about different goals and certain restrictions, given that it's a compact regional park. Obviously, it isn't going to win Best Themed Land awards, but I don't think they were trying to.

We'll see what the finished product delivers, and as @Jake S said, what the cost is.

If the park provides a pleasant place to be in, I'd consider it a winner in my book. I view it as more of a higher-quality alternative to trampoline parks, local zoos and other smaller experiences families spend an afternoon at. Not an alternative to the bigger theme parks.

This project was obviously designed to eventually be duplicated elsewhere in the country and the world. Get it up and running in under 3 years, not the 5+ it takes a major theme park resort.

I've mentioned this before, but this to me is the likelier more successful project between it and Horror Unleashed. Unleashed has limited potential & locations, but families with children on the other hand are a very profitable demographic and you can easily place this anywhere. I'd imagine a 2nd of these is destined for either the Northeast or West Coast within the decade.

Which sucks because Horror Unleashed is a great product and very well themed

Like those houses are so well done and it's just beyond many times what you can get at HHN

The Barnacle Bus needs the love that the other Bikini Bottom rides are getting. It does feel under-themed compared to Jellyfish Jamboree and the barrels.

But as you know, nothing in North Texas is lush and green. Well, maybe for a few weeks in the spring.

The landscaping is starting to roll in. Those massive live oaks are going to come to life in the next few weeks. The other smaller trees will eventually help fill in the gaps. I snapped photos of hundreds of wild grasses and Indian Hawthorn shrubs yesterday.
