What were the waits and crowds like here today, and IOA? Curious if anyone has followed or was there instead of Epic!

Good sign! I know Epic wasn’t full capacity but if it were ever going to be a ghost town, it’d be today.

IOA lines seemed longer than USF stand by times today when I looked at the Touring Plans app earlier. Nether was busy. Kind of moderate levels it seemed, up from the real slow crowds on Monday and Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday had the lowest Hagrids times I've seen in like forever.

A USF Summerfest like Mardi Gras or Holidays would be wonderful. "Summer Blockbuster" is already a term, and they already seem to lean into their IP celebrations between May and August, like with Jaws, JP, and the Retro stores. Mega Movie and Cinesational arriving in June/July last year already felt like they would fit in perfect with that kind of summer event anyways.

The journey of attempting every ride in both main parks in one day for Epic's opening was (mostly) successful! Got everything at IoA (except for Hulk which was closed today), and everything at USF except HRRR, Kang's, E.T. and Trolls. What I documented for which attractions need some help:

USF:
  • Minion Mayhem - First time riding it since 2022, and I'm surprised not many are talking about this, but it's rough. It's honestly almost as bad as Simpsons now. Screen is also looking a bit blurry now.

  • Race Through New York - Simulator on the right theater could use a fresh coat of paint.

  • Revenge of the Mummy - Imhotep was in B-mode today, but besides that everything was looking good.

  • Escape from Gringott's - Screen door before second launch not working, and the cart we were in had ringing in the audio, but it was actually taken off the track after we reported it to the TMs, so getting fixed.

  • Simpsons - Please put this thing down already.

IoA:
  • Spider-Man - Everything working perfectly, except the doors after Doc Ock's heat are still stuck open.

  • Popeye's - The sign flip at the beginning needs to be fixed, currently reads as Hurricane River to the right with Bluto switching it to Paradise Island, when it's meant to be the other way.

  • Ripsaw Falls - Actually looking very solid! First time seeing EVERY animatronic work in a very long time, all of whom look like they've gotten a pretty recent coat of paint.

  • River Adventure - This thing is really falling apart. Most of the animatronics don't even move anymore, and some are missing.

  • Forbidden Journey - Besides the dragon's fire breath still not working, everything else is good now! The dementor sequence's broken effects and animatronics from the past few weeks were all back up today.

  • Hagrid's - The creature in Hagrid's hut wasn't working, but that's it.

  • Seuss Trolley - Only running one side despite the pretty decent crowds today.

  • Cat in the Hat - Audio really needs help, but besides that, actually looking pretty solid.

Y'know what? Let's give this park some praise.

Hollywood is such a wonderful land. It's simple, it's not revolutionary, but man, does it nail what it's trying to do.

I cannot think of a time when I haven't walked down Hollywood's main street and not seen multiple walk-around characters from all kinds of different IP and parent companies all just kinda hanging out! Beetlejuice, Doc Brown, the Scooby Doo gang, Betty Boop, King Julian, Marilyn Monroe, The Simpsons family with their road-trip van, I feel like I've seen Popeye and Olive Oil here not too long ago too.

A few of them have specific queues and backdrops, but some are allowed to go into the stores and interact. I saw Doc Brown having a conversation about time travel inside 5 and Dime, and Shaggy hanging out in the Ice Cream shop. It adds such a fun energy to the place that makes it really inviting and energizing, and like this is the place where film comes to life.

It's so plain that it honestly goes under the radar for me a lot of the time! But throw in Bourne and HMUS for some great show offerings, the new Tribute Stores which they've really perfected in this new space, updated Mels (though it's pricey!), some nice stores and snack shops, and the perfect spot to see Mega Movie Parade over by the HMUS entrance, and you get what has consistently been a definite highlight on all of my trips to USF.

I'm pretty down on USF, so I appreciate the positivity!

And I agree, Hollywood is a great land. It contains more than half of the attractions I actually like in the park (if we're counting E.T. as in Hollywood now)!

It’s funny, because I’m still down on USF and I still consider it my least favorite of the 7 major Orlando parks, but I still had a blast on my last visit — there’s still so much to love!

This is so true. And the Wicked store now too.

I always have a better start to my day on USF when I turn right and enter via Hollywood than when I go down um.. Minions Blvd or whatever it's called. :lmao:

If the FFL stage had a show of same quality as Bourne, whatever that is, this park would automatically be a little better. Luckily Simpsons will be gone in 5 years which takes up a major part of the park, Supercharged will close, and we’ll get an HRRR replacement in a year or two. The facelift this park needs is coming, I just hope our patience is worth it! I like the variety of attractions here compared to IOA so I still find myself hanging here a bit.

We actually spend more time at USF than IOA, even though IOA has the better ride attractions. Street shows, theater shows, Diagon, and the ambiance of the NYC, Hollywood, and London streets really enhance our visits and occupy lots more time than the 4 minute long rides of IOA. If USF would replace their couple of weak attractions, and closed FFL theater, with three or four strong C/D/E attractions, it could be a damn good park.
