Epic Universe downtime since AP Previews have started. This is a look at the average downtime the park is experiencing throughout. Ministry is averaging about 4.3 hours of downtime since 4/28

Does Ministry downtime include when the ride is technically closed in the morning? Well I know the park is open but the ride is not, when I have been watching wait times In prep for my trip this weekend. I have noticed that it will say closed until the 3pm drop, which I assume is a similar situation to Hagrids where there are doing tests/ maintenance in the mornings before actually opening. I’d be curious to know the time the ride has actually spent delayed when they truly intended for it to be open.

I include a delayed opening since technically that's when the ride should be available to park guests, even if Universal intentionally delays the ride opening.

Ministry was down 44% on Sunday, 13% on Monday, 80% on Tuesday, and 74% on Wednesday.

Touring Plans publishes daily downtime reports of the WDW parks every week. Generally, downtime is between 3% to 5% for the parks. Mornings are rougher with many headliners in double digits. Those are established parks....So, these Universal Epic numbers, except for a couple days, don't look all that bad, considering all attractions are in soft opening/preview testing phase.....Ministry is the outlander. Its' like the early RotR.

The preview webpage has been updated to show that curse of werewolf will be closed tomorrow. They also updated it to show that werewolf and stardust were closed today, however when I checked in the morning these were not posted. So it seems like they are at least addressing some feedback and having more transparency about these full day closures.

How bad are Sundays for the preview? My birthday is this Sunday and I want to go since I haven't been back in awhile. My main focus would be riding Unchained as much as possible and eating at one of the restaurants.

I am admittedly a little baffled that they extended previews by a week while knowing that they'd need to do major maintenance on several attractions and filming for commercials. Feels like it risks bad guest experiences and more inconvenience for operations and marketing all for the sake of a bit more last-minute income before the grand opening. Previews were originally going to end yesterday!

This is what my wife and I said in our vlogs (ABritTravels), "at least they have the week or so between previews and grand opening to get final touches done before the 22nd", and then they went and annouced the extension. We went on the 17th and 18th April and the operations were good but we did notice bits and pieces that needed addressing so we were very shocked by the extension.

This is a good point. I think it’s all about the almighty dollar. Universal is just gonna fall back on the whole “well it is previews” thing and “well it’s technically not open yet.” I totally agree with this. However, they should not have been charging what they are charging, knowing a huge number of the attractions are going to be closed.

The weather thing is something a lot of people brought up as genuine concern when all the rides and lands were being speculated/confirmed if I remember correct.

It is a big risk to have this type of ride distribution in southern Florida. lol.

As great as the park looks, imagine someday down the line when it (possibly) finally expands and adds a few more indoor rides/shows to have more weather offerings.

(Islands admittedly has the same issue but its not the shiny new toy so)

Islands also has a lot of release valves. If you see rain in the forecast you can just go next door to Studios where almost everything is indoors, or take some time off to grab a drink or a snack at CityWalk. For the foreseeable future Epic is off on an island by itself like Animal Kingdom (another park that almost completely shuts down for lightning).

I had been thinking of buying another last-minute preview ticket to enjoy the low crowds since I had such a great time on the 27th, but looking at that data it seems like I really lucked out with my choice of date, so I'm glad I didn't press my luck. Here's hoping they have their act a little more together by Memorial Day

Yes, IOA and Studios are really like one huge park. 80% of tickets (per Universal) are park hoppers, so guests can just jump over to USF if its raining a lot.

We need more theme park content shows. I miss the old days of Travel Channel...

"Top 10 coasters", "thrill rides/scream machines", "water parks", etc... it was great
