I shared this on Twitter but wanted to make sure y'all heard it, too.

Last night was an unforgettable experience. From all-night editing to early morning updates, it’s been a hell of a ride. I’m proud of how far this journey has taken me, and I owe so much of it to y’all for supporting IU. Thank you, truly. Here’s to more theme park fun!

I'm hearing that capacity is capped at around 15K for all of June. May not actually be true but with how almost all of June has been 'sold out', it makes me think that it probably has been capped at a relatively low number as they'll want to continue to get good reviews on social media and not have the park be bashed for ridiculously high waits (with Ministry obviously being the outlier due to popularity and also unreliability)

Yeah makes me wonder how soon I would need to pull the trigger if I am to buy AP tickets that remain for June, looking at that June 19-22 window but also trying to figure if it would actually be any lower capacity advantage still then or will it be crowded and dying in summer heat lol

With the wait times being so low, the heat really hasn’t been a problem for me. I’ve been able to basically jump from ride to ride to ride and I’ve gotten inside of most of the queues before I had to wait. While yes, there’s not a lot of shade, there’s plenty of stores that you can go in for a few minutes if you are getting too hot.

Today seems like it was as successful as Universal could have hoped/planned for, with the exception of Battle of Ministry. Stand by lines should be fine as long as they stay at this 50% of capacity level. I'm guessing they'll increase the number of available tickets incrementally once these initial opening weeks progress. Looking at Touring Plans now (6:45 PM), just about everything is close to a walk on. Even BoM is down to 170 minutes....I don't think anyone guessed/predicted that Stand By would be so low for so many attractions today. Guests who bought Express basically wasted their money. And lines should get even shorter after 8:00 PM when many of those early morning guests leave.

The video of the opening ceremonies was impressive. A few things popped out to me:

- I didn't realize that what looked like the seating around the lagoon lit up and could display moving colors. Very impressive.
- For a brief moment there were fire effects. Do we know if that is part of a permanent installation or just for the special event. Cool of they built it to include in a show some day.
- The closing announcement is very reminiscent of other parks and makes me think it was recorded to play at the end of every evening's show.
- Love the lights on the Helios Hotel. I hope that's a permanent installation.

All in all, if they don't want to or can't do fireworks, I'd still like to see that show with everything else included on a regular basis.

I believe the flame effects were part of the temp speaker setups around the park, so no they're not permanent. I could see them adding fire if they wanted to.

Long-term play. Happy guests leaving happy remarks do better for the word of mouth than "OMG IT WAS PACKED AND NOTHING WORKED!"

to be honest I think it’s pretty dishonest that Universal priced express so highly ($270!!!) for a day they severely limited capacity

Look what showed up!

They are trying to get us Canadians to feel weak and full of FOMO so we drop the boycott!

Don’t worry, I’ll just stare at the magazine and dream of a future time when it can happen.

Ministry is posted as 120 but we just entered the line and we started further in than we did when we waited 85 mins last week. We’ll see how it moves from here but seems as fast as last time for now.

We had express for today and guest services refunded us in full after we politely pointed this out. We hadn’t used it though.

Edit - the end of the queue is following closely behind us and we’re moving through quickly. Assuming no delays then this would be a great time to jump in line if you’re in the park and want to ride.

I used it once for Cirque so I’m SOL. Oh well, lesson learned!

Still worth a shot. Also if you’re still here join the Ministry line now.

They will have a fireworks show every night. Tonight's show has been canceled due to damaged fountains from last night's fireworks

Just got off Ministry - 50 mins from entering the queue to boarding the vehicle.

Edit - just rode Ministry again, less than 35 mins from entering the queue to boarding

Just talked to three TMs. They said as far as they know everything should be running as normal.

Yeah, I meant only fireworks part. The fountain show will resume as usual but fireworks will be delayed.

I’m currently in line for Mine Cart. I’ve done Unchained, Werewolf, and Mario Kart so far. I nearly cried walking into Nintendo even having seen all of it in pictures.

Any word on changes to Werewolf ending with it reopening from the multi-day closure?
