So, is anyone here actually planning on biting on the Chronos tower kit for $600, or do we all agree that’s hilariously insane pricing? I’ve seen some crazy merch choices around the industry, but this one just floors me. Those medallions better be some precious metal, or have something actually valuable in the packaging like art or a “ticket” signed by Woodbury, otherwise this seems absurd for $600.

I thought the media kits had a nicer Chronos, but I went back and looked…nope, looks like this is the same.

I expected $80-$100 and an additional $25-$35 for each medallion. Even at my made up price, I was on the fence.

My girlfriend asked last night if I wanted one. I told her she better not buy something this silly and expensive like that for me as a birthday gift.

That my first thought on seeing the pictures was “LOL $600 for a cheap plastic-looking toy quality item” as someone who is generally very tempted by nearly any “collectible” parks item should say something. At $150-200 for the set it would have likely been a quiet pass for me, and I probably wouldn’t have had a bad thought about it. At $600 it shouldn’t look like a cheap quality toy even in pictures and have some details that seem pretty glaringly missing to me, like the entry and exit phrases on the portal. That it apparently isn’t entirely plastic is the biggest shock to me, honestly.

I’m pretty sure this is the first piece of Constellation Carousel merch they’ve ever done. It took a whole year for something to show up, but it’s better than nothing.

Makes sense, and they probably only made a few. I think people here and elsewhere in the community kinda overstated just how high the demand for a chronos model would be.

Since it's a pre-order with shipping costs I think the're being made to order or they're only ordering what they sell. It seems very rare and custom.

I don’t think it’s nearly the level of detail and finish to justify $600, especially when you look at the level of detail on the collectibles like figures and vehicles in the display cases in the other two parks in that price range. Maybe it looks a little better in person, but I highly doubt it. Just based on the pictures and what I remember of it looking like in the stores, the wizarding chess set for $400 looks leagues more detailed and nice compared to this. They’re not stating it’s limited edition yet, it seems more like a “we don’t feel confident this will sell but if you’ll take it at $600 then sure.” I’ll be interested to see if that price holds and/or how long this is offered.

My push back would be this is a standard item you can get anywhere vs the limited release and what seems to be custom built nature of the Chronos. But hey that's just how I see it and I don't necessarily disagree it's super expensive!
