Well this does have a Hagrid like coaster, a theater show, and a moderate thrill ride, so plenty for adults to do too! My thoughts are mostly on the IP itself which which might have fallen out of mind of Disney fans and adults, it still has a large presence with actual kids.

Like, people (including and especially kids) are familiar with the franchise even if they’re not all super attached to it, and the land will be beautiful. Pandora worked. This will work. “Cultural relevance” be damned.

Oh I agree. It also never stopped happening if you have kids who are into it. Like, there’s a new series with new seasons still. But also, it is timeless.

Cue the old lady from Titanic gif ... in the 1970s through at least 1987ish, before VCRs let alone streaming, I doubt 1 in 10 WDW guests had seen Disney's Snow White or Wind in the Willows. Probably around half had seen Dumbo (it came back every 7 years or so). Yet Fantasyland was still the most popular land in the park.

HTTYD is more in the public eye than most Disney IPs in that era, but even if it wasn't, I think the primal vibe of swords and dragons will sell the land, particularly when combined with cool rides.

HTTYD was also a very, very popular children's book series before it was even a movie. For the past 20 years or so, lots people have grown up on it.

If you polled a random sampling of non-theme park enthusiasts and said Uni is building a new park, and has one of the largest lands dedicated to one kid's IP. Then if you listed the properties they own, I suspect HTTYD would not be at the top of what people would expect the land to be.

Limit the list to Universal-owned IPs without a current presence in any park and it would be.
