Venom is still the bigger draw.

It’s not about that

but let movies breathe

we need big hits but films coming out the same week always make less than what combines need Them to and will keep making the movie industry look like it’s hurting worst

Venom and Halloween Kills won't exactly have the same crowd though. And while yes, Fall is very much packed like a can of sardines. But there isn't really much else that can be fixed unless if you want to delay films into Early 2022.

I will say for HK, Blumhouse has stated in the past that the film would come out this year. That doesn't necessarily mean it might be theatrical. If Venom gets a delay; I am betting it would take NWH's date, and NWH take's Morbius's.

Interesting that they'd rather release it in January than now given that January is not necessarily known as a big movie going month and they're basically just hoping the pandemic is under control. This might be a smart move though given that no film is likely to do gangbusters for the rest of the year except No Way Home, which would be releasing only a short time before this rumored Venom date.

Bad Boys 3 did pretty big business in January 2020, though, so it's not like there's no precedent of big films in January.

Morbius is really committing to the vampire bit. It will never see the sun.

I think they need to accept that this movie is never going to make as much as the first one.

I agree, but I also don't think there's any harm in pushing it to January either since that's when Morbius was slated to come out, so now that pushes everything back into hopefully healthier times and three Spider-Man related films aren't being released in the span of 4 months. Sony also didn't use borrowed money to make the film, so pushing back the movie isn't causing them any extra money for every month it sits on the shelf, either.

I think what Sony is hoping for here is that people become acclimated and comfortable with going to a movie theater for No Way Home, and that feeling will bleed into Venom 2 and, in their eyes, hopefully give the film an extra boost.

As a bit of a heads up, for those opting to be unspoiled; the post credits for Venom is going around the bend, and to say it's interesting is an understatement, but please be careful out there.

....Because man, it is something.

October is going to be a big mouth for new movies. I do not know whether I start the mouth off watching something spectacular or watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage - featuring a song by Eminem.

Well, at least the critics aren't beating this one with the ugly stick like they did the first. Seems to be in the same vein of Godzilla vs Kong where you'll enjoy it if you turn your brain off.

The post-credits scene would have gotten me so excited if I liked these movies more. I’m glad he’s joining the MCU, I’d rather have this iteration of Venom than none at all, but I really wish Feige took a more consultative approach initially with Sony for this character.

Carnage is amazing, like they got him very well done. He feels right out of the comic books

I have to ask, who the hell likes Eddie or Venom they are so unlikable. In what world do I like Shang Chi over Venom?

I just feel like while MCU humor isn't the end all be all it works most of the time, people are laughing their asses off but in Venom only like one or two jokes landed and the rest were like if a teenager tried to write bad jokes.

Carnage looks and feels amazing the rest of the characters and I have no idea why they went this direction but my god please change it up next film

Saw it yesterday, not really gonna touch on the story much so won't bother with spoilers. All I can say is it wasn't as bad as I went in expecting it to be, but that said I still don't think it was amazing, most of my time I was laughing in the "wtf is happening" kind of way. Also it may be intentional, but all the characters are unlikeable and largely unsympathetic and it extra made me kinda check out of the whole movie.

This movie really, REALLY suffered by being PG-13. It should’ve been a horror film with Carnage.

What would having blood do?

They can barely write anything interesting as is, making it rated R won't help. Eddie and Venom are the biggest issue of the film

Carnage was what he needed to be, he looked cool, was powerful, killed people in a ton of different ways and had a goal. Joker didn't need to be rated R to be scary or violent, he needed good writers.

What the hell does Eddie or Venom even want that conflicts with the main villains wants? Who ever wrote this made two different films with different tons, Eddie/Venom stuff is goofy and feels like an 90's movie bad with the characters being unlikeable and just dumb reasons for everything.

Can't wait for Venom 3 to be a rom-com with the two Toms as the boys Venom has to choose between.

EDIT: Also, for god's sake, don't bring your two toddlers to freakin' Venom.
