Of course it’s their prerogative if they want to change course. But if their plan has been to go from Darkmoor to Berk, I would think that they would have a thought out plan on how to spin that announcement.

Their plan was never Darkmoor.

Yeah, thought about it a few minutes more and realized what could have happened: Original plan called for a "larger," TRON-style coaster with a brief outdoor section and the majority of the ride path inside in a big show building (read: relatively inexpensive show set). Dark ride was a sizable but not extravagant affair.

New plan potentially calls for scaled up E-ticket dark ride and a coaster more along the lines of, say, Slinky Dog or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I hope that they build up the coaster to be more like what the Mine Train was supposed to be. The original plans were scaled back so much that it is probably half the original length. Something along the lines of the Spiderman coaster going into Shanghair Disneyland but it doesn't need to be a high thrill ride (although I wouldn't complain). Just a longer version of Seven Dwarves Mine Train with some nice indoor sections. My other wish would be that the third ride be something more than a spinner. A nice omnimover would be nice. Just something that would have high capacity and provide a decent ride length.

So let me put my cards out and I'll stop dancing around stuff.

The leaks of a MMRR Pain & Panic ride and a Hagrid-like coaster were what I heard too. I heard Disney considers the comedic interpretation in the Villains show in DHS not something they want to continue going after, so I don't think this new land concept is going to be comedic or more family friendly. My guess is Disney wants to go for a jovial, but still threatening, and offer several types of villain concepts to choose from. Back to what I've heard, Disney's interested in the guest flow of Berk with the characters, not making it "family friendly" per say. Back to the rides, ops wasn't a fan of having an outdoor attraction having to be the main LL revenue driver so the push was made to focus on the indoor dark ride being the revenue generator. Rumor has it they want to really knock the dark ride of the park.

These all sound like super smart decisions imo. If this is Josh’s touch, I like it!
