"And here, a Full Day of Fun lasts well into the night."

To me, this statement is the most glaring exaggeration of the VB marketing so far. Hopefully they are able to pull off the flowing lava lightshow thing this Thursday night when the park is open until after sunset.

This. The sun sets around 8:30ish. So one would only experience the "flowing lava" for like 30 minutes. The Disney water parks are also currently closing at 8pm.

So just to confirm.. is Krakatau the only attraction that you can have at the same time as another?

I thought I heard someone say you could also do it for Ika Moana.

Edit: I think I mean Honu... whichever one the blue slide is.

Btw.. one thing I thought was annoying. If you're by another slide when your TapuTapu says Ride Now, you can't start queueing for that until after you go ride whatever you're currently able to. It'll give you the option of Keep or Switch. Obviously you keep the one you currently have 0 minute wait for and not the one that's 300.

Some of the overreaction in this thread is getting to be dull as dishwater to read now, some people would have you believe that VB is the worst thing since Cholera.

As other more level-headed folks have stated, Universal were simply a month out in their prep time and would have massively benefitted from a month of softs to stress test Tapu Tapu and general crowd behavioural patterns. That didn't happen, but it'll all be fine in a few weeks. No one will even care or remember this in 2 months time, apart from those who'll actively choose to.

It was for Ika Moana, and it was for the first day only apparently.

It sucks, and I wish it was open longer - but let them work this out. The park will be opening in later in a month's time so hopefully by then they can make sure they get it right. We can't argue they should have waited to get Volcano Bay open and then complain it's not open later.

Anyway, here's the Grand Opening Ceremony

They should do that grand opening every morning! It really sets the tone for the park.

Only a 7 hour wait, not too bad.

Note that was before 10am and they had early entry today but in a couple of weeks I think you will have reasonable wait times.

Any idea what time this was? Originally, I was going to go all day on Weds, and again one morning this week depending on how it goes.

Now I'm thinking rope drop Weds, thurs and Fri, with leaving for other parks as things escalate to crazy. Forecasts for afternoon t-storms are have me leaning this way as well. They have not had to deal w that yet.

More importantly, what time do they start serving rum? Diagon does pretty early, while most other places in the "parks" start at 11.

Do Maku and Puihi have better capacities than the other big raft slides or are they more reliable? Their wait times are never anywhere near the Aqua Coaster or Honu or Ika Moana ...or are they just not as fun? I'm confused by the drastic differences in wait times.

Yeah, opening weekend for a holiday won't give you a real idea. What Bio was showing was that everyone at rope drop went to the coaster then it dropped off about an hour later and has now picked up to stupid wait times.

Do you guys think if universal had made a few slides with normal queues, the times of the rest of the slides would have gone down?
