HQ version of the PAX trailer which also is the new international trailer.

Similar but not exact to the PAX version. That one isn't bad but I still much prefer the PAX version, even without seeing it in good quality. Here is the PAX version (taped from someone in audience - may get taken down at somepoint):

I've been reading what other people think and there seems to be a lot of people like me who were originally turned off by the first 2 trailers but liked the PAX trailer a lot. I wish they would just officially release the PAX trailer, but so far they don't seem compelled to do so =/.

I like the PAX trailer quite a bit, but unless Uni ramps up marketing this will bomb.

Nice, as Fatality said can't really trust early reactions from random people, but glad that so far it's getting a positive response. I am more interested in seeing the responses from those who never played the game and have no connection to the source material. So far I've only found one person (listed in that reddit post you linked) who saw it and had no prior connection to the source material in any way, but he liked it a lot - though he felt the ending needed some work. The prosyndicate guy is familiar with warcraft and he liked it a lot as well, giving it 8.9/10. Apparently there is a fight scene that he isn't thrilled with (wonder if it's at the end), which is preventing him from giving it 9 +. He had also seen BvS and thought it sucked, so he may have some decent credibility haha

Tonight there seems to be a screening that will have a lot of press. Hopefully some reviews will be coming out shortly. Not sure if there will be any sort of embargo

Meh. I go into a Zach Snyder film baked like a cake - knowing I'm gonna see cool crap that makes zero sense - and I enjoy myself.

Okay reviews from the press screening are coming out...read the first set of comments at your own risks as there are spoilers. I think this review is very realistic rather than fanboi praise

It's blocked now. Sometimes I feel Universal is purposely trying to torpedo this movie into the ground. They move as quick as possible to remove footage that receives generally positive feedback, and instead leave their trailers up which have been met with mixed reaction. PAX trailer received overwhelmingly positive reaction from those that saw it, but Uni decides to remove it from the internet. Now these clips that for most part are also positive are getting taken down as quick as they show up. Their marketing has been abysmal imo.

I will say though, based on the clips (I happened to find it on youtube, though will likely be removed again shortly) and the reaction online from early screenings (not that I can put too much stock in that), I think this movie will break the video game movie curse. I think it will be considered a good movie, though fall shy of being considered great. A nice entry none the less.

A bunch of positive press out of Moscow at the press conference with even one reporter begging to know what is planned for the future...also some critcs also posted their initial reactions which most are saying they are surprised they liked it not being gamers. This may be a breakout hit. (All I want is Stormwind to be in a park and Orc AA and magic to be used in a theme park so I really hope its great. As I really want a lich king movie)

Yea, I think Warcraft has a ton of potential park wise, but will probably have to prove itself and do well at the box office. Duncan Jones made a quick related comment in an ign interview the other day where he said:

Duncan Jones - Director of Warcraft movie said:
I am so glad that you are liking the portrayal of Durotan and Draka. I shouldn't play favorites, but they are my favorite characters too. I am a big fan of the Lion's Pride Tavern only because the set was phenomenal and I would have loved to have done the wrap party there. Maybe Universal Studios will make a Lion's Pride Tavern on City Walk one day.

Here is a small feature on Lion's Pride Inn from the movie:

And I agree, Arthas/Lich King would be a great story, one of the best character arcs imo.

That press conference you posted is great btw, anyone who has some interest in the movie should give it a listen.

Duncan Jones did a walk through of the different props and stuff that were on display at the media briefing:

I wonder if this video game transition to movie will be good. I played the original RTS version of it. They also just released the first trailer for the movie of Assassin's Creed.

Some new footage and commentary from the cast. Looking good imo (though maybe a bit cheesy at some points). I always felt if this movie did good and brought about the possibility of theme park stuff, goldshire and stormwind would be cool, but after seeing the video... give me Dalaran! (City floating in the sky).

So, it looks like WARCRAFT is on its way to becoming the highest grossing film ever just based on presales. Already tracking to surpass F7.

In China and Russia. As of this moment warcraft is expected to surpass F7 in China ($390 million) based on presales, and perhaps even overtake The Mermaid which made $553 million in China.

Also, Warcraft just had its premier in France today, and the response so far has been very positive (keep in mind it's mostly fans of the franchise that attended). The consensus seems to be, Warcraft is the new standard for CGI and the orcs are amazing, while human actors get the job done but nothing mind blowing in regards to human performance for the most part .

There was also a critic review (Norweigan, had to look for translation): Warcraft: The Beginning « NRK Filmpolitiet - alt om film, spill og tv-serier
He tweeted his summary for english speakers saying, "My #WarcraftMovie review in norwegian says things like "fun, engaging, entertaining, hard-hitting". 4/6 stars"
Just to note, he stated he had no prior knowledge to Warcraft.

I'm thinking overall it will be considered a decent - good movie among those who don't really know about Warcraft, and probably a good to great movie for those who are fans of the warcraft franchise. I've heard for those that don't know much about Warcraft, it can be hard keeping up with the different characters and all the different zones.

Edit: Going to sneak an edit in here. Some more reviews are coming out and there seems to be a huge divide between US reviewers and international. As of this moment, 4 us reviews have come out, 2 of which are brutally negative, and 2 mixed. Quite a few foreign reviews are coming out too though and they are ranging from 6.5 - 8/10. Still early as far as reviews go, just seems interesting that there seems to be a real big divide so far. Will be interesting to see if it continues to be panned by US critics or if the scores will begin to improve. I was under the impression that there was an embargo on US publications until the 30th - but some have already come out

US reviews are starting to come out with very mixed results. Two relatively positively ones with great criticism from Hollywood Reporter and Screen International and two negative ones from The Wrap (I don't trust his opinion as he said the live action Dragonball Movie was a 4/5 star film and the last airbender was a 4.5/5 star film) and Variety (who didn't even have his facts straight).

I think the negative bias isn't even about the film itself but towards Warcraft in general.
