I bit noteworthy here- Victoria & Albert’s is now a Michelin star restaurant for the first time.

It was received 5 stars year in and year out by various notable publications, but has never received an honor as high as being awarded a Michelin star.

5 diamond despite not having a lounge... definitely some rule bending there.

I always get a chuckle out of Michelin rated restaurants literally being the tire company, because why not :lmao:

I do too, but people who don’t know better or want to brag look at it as a big thing.

Mostly it’s the restaurant itself that really gets excited about it bc then they can say they based on ratings from professionals, they are the best in Orlando and one of the best in Florida. At least based on awards.

I mean, it's a pretty cool history.

I'm never going to one, but the idea of these restaurants is pretty cool/romantic.

Oh definitely - the history makes a lot of sense, it's just the notion of potentially the most prestigious award for a restauranteur to win being given out by a person in an inflatable tire suit that elicits the chuckle.

Same, I struggle to justify spending that much on a single meal - closest I've been is to the sister restaurant next to a one star.

Still incredibly noteworthy, but the 5 Diamonds is front of the house, a Michelin star is back of the house. (Source: was having drinks with a V&A trained server not last night.) Not really a "higher" honor per se but good to see the culinary team get their flowers as well as the servers.

First, I think James Beard > Michelin. But it’s very tight.

*puts on bougie hat*

I’ve done V&A’s a couple of times (several years ago), as well as a few other restaurants of that caliber. For me, the cost is for the totality of the experience. The food is obviously beyond but, to a degree, the service and ambience is more important. And the “experience” of V&A’s is one of the best I’ve had.

I unironically love that every time Universal does an Epic Universe drop, Walt Disney World responds with big-time bus news.

Disney also wined and dined a bunch of media outlets today with DCL news.

Saw more DCL news on Lookout Cay on my feed than SNW lol

It's a catch-22 for Disney. Remain silent on the Epic Universe news drop days, and people will go "Disney, why aren't you responding with anything?" Respond with something, and people will go, "Why aren't you doing anything bigger?"

Disney has a dedicated weekend for big announcements in August.

Anyway, I like Orange Bird!

Right they have to respond some way or another but nothing can top a full land announcement.

Disney knows they can’t compete with Epic head on so why bothered teasing something big when it’s not coming anytime soon ??

We love Orange Bird as well. I sent my wife a picture of the bus to see if she needed a trip to Disney just to see the bus. Sadly, she didn't.

I don't get too excited about Disney right now because I figure the announcements won't be until August (as you stated) and the build times mean that I won't experience these announced rides for another three to four years. At the least.

The Disney forums are saying BTMR will be closed for anywhere from 18 months to three years for an extensive retrack, new trains, and additional sitework related to Beyond BTMR.

This is for hotel updates etc. This would be more appropriate for the Magic Kingdom General thread.
