Epic's going to be with us from now into the future; but that doesn't necessarily mean visiting Epic in 20 years is going to be anything like visiting the park we've got now. I can't think of a single park that exists with its' entire opening day lineup intact after the initial decade or so. It may take a while, but it's only a matter of time before we see some cuts and replacements hit this park too.

Place your bets, folks! Which opening day attraction won't make it into the Epic Universe of tomorrow?

Just trying to take advantage of this weird Post-Epic, pre-Epic one year anniversary moment we find ourselves in haha. This is a very strange time to ask this question; everything is so incredibly fresh and new, and not obviously outdated or operationally problematic; which is exactly why I'm so interested to hear everyone's thoughts/predictions. Figure it'd be a fun time capsule, if nothing else!

And the easy answers would be something to the extent of the Invisible Man atmosphere character, or the Dragon drones, or the Goblet Noir restaurant; but c'mon, I wanna hear some capital-T takes. Do you really believe we'll be riding opening-day Mine Cart Madness in 2057? Will we see Cirque swapped for a different show at some point in the distant future? Will Stardust Racers share the same fate as Dueling Dragons? Let's get a little crazy here!

Not an E-Ticket, but if there's any attraction in the park I could imagine going away at some point, it would be Curse of The Werewolf. It's fairly low capacity, it has somewhat of a negative impact on the land's theming and layout, and there's simply better ways they could utilize that space.

I think Mine Cart Madness is the answer. Speaking as very much not an engineer, I cannot imagine the way the car sits on the track is easy on the track/cars/etc. and could be the first ride in the park to reach the end of its service life.

The boat ride in Dragon probably, as I doubt they’d ditch any of the e-tickets.

Replacing Dragon Racer’s Rally with a different, higher capacity flat ride that still fits the theming.

My favorite thing is people commenting attractions that aren't listed as options lol

I went with Stardust Racers - simply due to the fact that coasters have a specific lifespan in this climate. Maybe they'd redo it like Hulk, but who knows! Rip Ride Rockit getting 16 years and Dueling Dragons getting 18 years makes me wonder.

But if not, I think @Jake S has the best take.

It's an interesting question... but I do think the attraction package is quite solid. I don't think any of the E-tickets are going to be replaced with the level of investment they received... but like @Jake mentioned, Donkey Kong I'd imagine could see an overhaul at a later date to improve capacity/reliability?

I'm 100% with you there, I wish they saved a Dark Universe expansion as the park's first major expansion. I think a large-scale Curse of the Werewolf actually set in a forested setting (like Hagrid) would have done well.

Said it before me, but I've been thinking that this will be the first to go. I questioned it's existence from the very start with it's horrendously low capacity and its odd location. As weird as it sounds, I wouldn't mind it being replaced by a better queue experience for Wing Gliders (once more attractions are added at Epic of course).

Similar to Jake, I think that low capacity and ultimately high maintenance costs due to the design will ultimately bring a shorter shelflife to Donkey Kong.

Dragon Racers Rally. Easy to replace with another low budget, better capacity, flat ride. Then it gives them something new to advertise/market.

To be clear, the poll is a secondary adjacent question to the larger discussion! I would love to hear thoughts about all attractions in the thread. I think Curse and Racer Rally are solid predictions!

I mostly chose the poll options because I didn't want an easy answer. The closest thing to that would be Untrainable, since Universal doesn't have a great track record with retaining large shows long-term. If I added Curse or smaller attractions like that, all of the votes would understandably go there. If people are forced to pick from Mario Kart, Unchained, and Stardust, which one do they think could end up leaving? That's the idea.

Untrainable makes the most sense. If they start cutting entertainment (as they have in past years), or if they feel attendance isn't high enough, I could see this getting cut. Also has the lowest sunk-cost fallacy.

Stardust also makes sense to me though. I'm not saying I want this to happen, but I've thought for a while that there's a possibility they retheme and connect this to a future IP based portal. Imagine the 17 acre expansion space is used for two IP: one IP gets ~12 acres, the other IP gets ~5 acres + Stardust (9 acres).

Stardust also makes sense because as others have mentioned, coasters have an expiration date. Stardust is also probably the least expensive ride on the list, so less sunk -cost fallacy involved. I that being said, love Stardust and hope it never changes.
