Seeking of Jungle Cruise, how cool would it be if there was a driver in the jeep ride and it interacted with the dinosaurs, just like in Jaws. What do you think?

Would be cool, but it's expensive to staff.

I think if the JP expansion land is used that Thunder Falls will go with it. I know in terms of size it's one of the largest lands but I personally don't see the need of Thunder Falls, Pizza Predattoria, Burger Digs and The Watering Hole. Even if the Watering Hole is supposed to be more of a bar and serve snacks as opposed to meals I think that's adequate choices. The only argument I can see against is all the food choices would be on one side, but when the restaurant is closed that's the case anyways.

Well is Thunder Falls a seasonal restaurant?

Eh. Thunder Falls is probably the best quick restaurant there along with 3 Broomsticks, so I dunno if I agree with that. Plus, the expansion land is already huge without TF leaving.

After consulting Google Maps that plot of land is HUGE. Probably about the size of the Spidey or Mummy show building.

Thunderfalls is seasonal but if an expansion took over or brought more life to it I would be content either way.

It is quite big. At first I thought thunder falls would have to go, but that's because i was thinking of the small space TM's currently use to go backstage there. You could easily make another entrance on the opposite side of TF.

And as I stated before, that was an oversight on my part with Test Track. And what I meant was the skipper isn't avoiding the animals with his/her driving. But I anticipate how you're going to dissect this post and tell me how I'm wrong yet again.

That was kind of my point. If you built JC today, no you probably wouldn't need skippers. (Story and theme aside). Animals, IMO, are the only factor you can't reasonable control without human input.

I think without skippers on JC, it's one of the worst rides in that park. Skippers are the ride!

^It was the same for JAWS. They made the ride what it was.

I agree. But that's not my point. And I don't think that campy kind of theme would work in JP.

Guys, that's not at all what we're saying. What we're saying is they're not absolutely essential to the operation of the ride. They're actors. They could pretty easily retro-fit a system in to make the boats completely automated, but they shouldn't because the skippers make the ride.

I realize that. I was just commenting on TheMackMachine's comment. If a ride is designed for human interaction/live actors, then so be it. If a ride is designed for complete automation with an audio track, that's great as well. JPRA isn't terrible just because there's not a person at the front being all corny and nice.

I think I understand, but correct me if I'm wrong. Sure they don't need an actor "driving" the jeep, but wouldn't it be cool if they did? It will be like Jaws and Jungle Cruise. It's all animatronics and there's a track so they don't need a skipper. But, they have them so the experience is enhanced and makes it less awkward. And again, correct my if I'm wrong.

Sure, that'd be fine. I mean, you'll have the purists that say it should be driverless because the movie had driverless Jeeps, but these days driverless vehicles are ubiquitous in theme parks. Depending on the tone they want the ride to be (humorous, sincere, friendly) a driver might be needed.

It's more likely if it was spiel oriented it would be driver-less. The movies relied on driver-less vehicles.

Personally, I think it would be great either way. However, since the movie relied on driverless vehicles, I'm leaning more towards that, but you could always have a speaker in the car or something to keep it from getting awkward

Yeah kinda like what they did in Jaws with Chief Brody. But if they want to put a jeep ride in this park, it would be better if they had something more than just "driving through" Jurassic Park in an automated car.

:iagree: I was going for more of a scarier JAWS basically, without the cheesiness. Maybe have a goal to get to the sick dinosaur from the first movie? And you could always have the 'something goes terribly wrong' aspect… Who knows I'm just throwing stuff out there
