Do we know if the VL will be gone at opening? I guess it really depends weather they can fix the issues and bring capacity up.

No one really knows, but I’d assume if they have VL when ministry opens back up next week during previews, then they will keep it for opening.

Dumb question (sorry to side-track from the VQ stuff)-- does anyone know if I'd be allowed to wear a Beauxbatons dress and hat to the park? I've always wanted a reason to put together that costume, and going around wizarding Paris in it sounds like as good a reason as any to finally do it lol but I'd hate to show up and get turned away

Any idea what keeps causing issues for Cirque Arcanus? The show seems to be cancelled constantly?

Without getting into spoilers, my guess is it’s the tech behind the main reveal. It is also just a major part of the show so I’d think there is not a B mode for it.

Hope they can get it to be consistent. The two main (and only) attractions can’t both have reliability issues.

It seemed to be working fine the last couple of weeks and now all of sudden issues are starting to arise.

Getting to see a lights-on breakdown POV of the ride is great because it allows you see to see what's physically present.

That DeathEater animatronic is so fluidly lifelike. It's insane that it isn't a live actor

This ride is so uncanny. That's the best way I can describe it. When you're actually riding it it's hard to tell what's a screen and what's an animatronic/physical. The only other ride I feel this way with is Pirates at Shanghai. It's so good

Well now both lines will be terrible if this info spreads. Anything on single rider? That’s what I’ll be using.

Are we sure this thing can actually handle 6+ hour queues?

If the demand* for the ride results in five-hour queues, there should be five-hour queues. Guests can make decisions and judgments for themselves about whether or not they want to get into such a queue, and the other attraction queues in the park should react accordingly.

This is how crowd dynamics should work. Virtual Queue is not a solution.

*We don't know how much this is impacted by the ride running or not yet running at full capacity.

Yeah I’m sorry I’ll never be convinced this is better than a Virtual Line.

For super fans who have the flexibility/intention to come to a park multiple days, or know the ins and outs of each attraction ahead of time and can prioritize their visit accordingly, sure.

But I’ve got to imagine the disappointment of a five hour queue’s worth of people when they are spending half their day in a building is outweighed by the disappointment of people who aren’t able to access it but at least can enjoy the rest of the park at their pace. Keep in mind that long lines are THE number one complaint and common denominator among lower NPS and satisfaction scores.

Not to mention that at least with a Virtual Queue, the complaints from those not able to ride get outweighed by the satisfaction of folks who get to get on so much quicker. With standby, best case scenario is you got to ride a single ride in five hours…

I just don’t get the resistance to virtual.

I largely agree with you

My main complaint with VQ with MoM were the IT failures. The button didn't always appear at the time it was supposed to (it could appear early or late), and more than likely it would give you an error message.

I'd prefer the system to work more like Volcano Bay, where you have to go up to the MoM line and check in, with each individual person, then given a return time based on how many other people have checked in before you. Then once it fills up, they mark it as "at capacity." This would resolve the issue of people needing to stand in a physical queue for 3+ hours, allow those people to spend money, and be a much more fair system for everyone at the parks.

I believe the wait may have ballooned as some of the rides were closed this morning, especially Nintendo.

I’d even go a step farther…if I want to ride it, let me pay for it. No matter how you slice it, getting on this ride in its current state requires an exchange of some sort of capital (your time or your luck). Why not add money to the equation?

To get on the ride right now, it has to mean a lot to you. If you let us quantify that with a paid single-use Express pass, at least I’m still able to get my value for the ticket I bought to experience the rest of the park.
