WWoHP coming to USJ in 2014

The picture of the castle with the lake in the foreground is deceiving...if looking at the castle from across the lake square-on, you see the showbuilding from behind the castle on both sides--a lot of it. Like more showbuilding than castle. It looks really stupid. I would rather have our castle with a little visible building than the lake with almost the whole darn thing sticking out from behind it.

Here's a video of the Forbidden Journey in Japan.

Looked exactly the same from what I could tell. There was no smoke/"fire" coming out of the dragon but I assume that's an error and it will usually be working. Aragog seemed a bit better to me but I can't tell why, he wasn't moving I don't think. You couldn't get a good look at the Whomping Willow or the dementors in this POV.

It's funny hearing the ride in Japanese!

Found concept art for "Harry Potter & the Dark Forest" a scrapped coaster for Japan.

^ Interesting find! I've always wanted to have a Dark Forest attraction, and it would be really cool if the setting might still get used sometime in the future!

Here's a podcast review of USJ, the entire second half is a discussion of the Wizarding World there:

The main discussion about WWoHP Japan is about the differences from the Orlando version. Not sure if this is new info to anyone, but they said frozen butterbeer was not seen for sale, pumpkin juice was not seen there, Hogsmeade is completely separate from the rest of the park, surrounded by trees and you can't see the rest of the park inside, FJ has an express lane, is 4K but not 3D, no castle tour, Ollivander's is bigger, and 3B serves the same food as Orlando. It's worth a listen even if none of this info is new, it's a very positive review.

Wow wow wow... BIG thanks to Parkscope's twitter for posting this video. This team so reminds me of TimTracker and JennTracker.

It is seriously the best video ever posted by a western couple of Osaka. You will really enjoy it.

Again, big thanks to Parkscope!
Thanks Parkscope & Teebs.....A remarkable resemblance between TT and this gentleman.

Thanks Teebs and Mad Dog! I do my usually searches on youtube and found it. It's really really hard to find good Osaka footage because of cultural norms.

FWIW, at their Olivander's you enter a preshow area where they do the rules, then a TM opens a wand wall for you to enter into the performance space. It's very different.

For curiosity's sake, has anyone heard any reviews of Japan's Forbidden Journey since it went 3D?

I don't know about the ride, but the land itself is a lot better if you discount the fact that it doesn't have Dragon Challenge. The areas where we have wheeled kiosk storage space got turned in to more shops and more wand choosing rooms over there. They also enter there land through a forest that goes pretty deep simulating walking through the forest that actually leads up to the village in the movies (they did kinda add a small one around the station area at ours).
