Shrimp pasta in a tomato sauce sounds like a dream. Especially at that price.

From New England, who goes to a higher end seafood restaurant often, a $48 Lobster Roll is absolutely absurd pricing. That’s $15-$20 way too much. Need to do something else with Lobster to charge those types of prices.

$48 is BANANAS. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lobster roll that expensive, even in Boston.

So going during previews later this month. A little confused with dining. I see the menus aren't in the app yet from what I could gather. I'm assuming mobile order is working based on the previous comments. For sit down restaurants, is it first come first served since I didn't see a way to make reservations.
Mobile order and the full menu are visible on the app once your inside the park. Sit down restaurants are likely to release reservations any day now.

Too early, but I want to start providing a "best of" food list for people to hit up. Based on my and others review.

At the moment this is only quick service.

Celestial Park
The Oak & Star Tavern - BBQ is hard at a theme park, hearing it's not great just yet. However the bar and some of the sides are good so this could be a very nice place to relax and have a drink.
Meteor Astropub - the sauce is apparently well done on the Big Bang Burger and the Chicken and Waffle is a higher quality version of what you could find at Fast Food Boulevard at USF.
Pizza Moon - best safe & great option at the park, pricey but each pie can serve 2

HTTYD
Mead Hall - great environment, but haven't heard much great reviews of the actual food items
Spit Fyre Grill - great reviews, but apparently the portions don't justify the pricing... and these were at TM previews with food heavily discounted (if Mead's food doesn't improve, wouldn't surprise me to see these items relocate to Mead, and Spit Fyre become the basic tender & burger place).

WWOHP - Ministry of Magic
Cafe L'air la Sirene - standard sandwiches and salads, but they are big enough for two people to enjoy. Butterbeer Crepe is a must
Le Gobelot Noir - n/a

Dark Universe
Das Stakehaus - food is not great yet, but the place setting is amazing. Similar to Oak & Star, if the food doesn't improve this might just be a nice place to rest at with drinks
Burning Blade Burger - food is getting better reviews than Das Stakehaus. Depending on how popular Burning Blade gets, it wouldn't surprise me to see their food items relocate to Das to just focus on drinks

Super Nintendo World
Toadstool Cafe - very similar to Minion Cafe, garlic knots are very good. The Toad Herb Chicken Special is a very light meal yet filling meal, while the pizza bowl is the opposite

It'll be interesting to see how this changes over time, which restaurants end up not doing well, etc.

These 100% will be the two busiest bars.

I see Flora Taverna and Bar Helios are available for reservations now for preview days. Does anyone have any idea what the menus are for either of these locations? I don't want to reserve dinner there and not like any of the food. I'm a bit picky in what I eat.

Who would have thought that Epic's most popular restaurant thus far is the pizza quick service, and not Das Stakehaus lol

I’m craving the food from Oak & Star— I ate there 3 times now, each time was great!

The pulled pork huli huli sandwich— so good! And I don’t normally like pork. The brisket was excellent as well.

Everyone I’ve heard from said the food was good, but pricey. I saw someone had issues with the doneness of their steak, but other than that food has been positively reviewed.

The food is great! It’s the most expensive in the park, but the quality of service and food was very high. I won’t eat there every time because it is quite a time/money commitment, but it was the highlight of our day across the board.

Glad to hear good reviews mostly minus the Steaks. I like to splurge on Mythos once a trip for something special so I had high hopes here as being from New England, seafood is kinda my shizzzz. The scallop dish looks awesome.

Summary of Average Quick Service Entree Pricing at Epic Universe & Comparisons:
1745261206181.png

Notes/Questions
  • Pizza Moon & Cafe L'air offer great shareable options that can save you money for your group
  • All of the options are far higher in quality compared to what exists at the current parks (but will it last?)
  • I do think some options are priced way too high (Steak Bowl at Spit Fyre, Butterbeer Crepe $19.99 etc.)
  • I wonder if they relocate Butterbeer Crepe elsewhere (or offer to-go option) to reduce tables being taken up by people only wanting the crepe
  • Most of the quick service restaurants could have easily been (or turned into) a table service restaurant. UC did a fantastic job

I'm interested in seeing how pricing and menu items shift over time. Universal is trying (and they delivered) on offering a more premium quick service option, but I do wonder how the general public receives it.

Anyone know if you can customize items more specifically if you order at the counter in quick service restaurants? The options when mobile ordering are limited.

Are you asking about customization for allergies or personal preferences? If it’s for allergies, then absolutely. For personal preferences, a manager may accommodate requests.

Just personal preference. As an example I would have liked to remove the sauce from my burger as Astropub, but the only options IIRC were no bun and no pickles.

I'd like to think there will be a system in place where you can change a bit more than that, I cant stand melted cheese and finding a burger without cheese will be impossible!

Yes, you have to go to the counter for customizations that the app won't do. But be forewarned: they're REALLY pushing the app as the only way to the order to the point of being almost rude about it. We had to put our foot down.

Yes there will be foot putting from me too as cheese seems to be in about 99% of all available food (I may be being a tad sarcastic, but I'm not far off that percentage seemingly!)
