Bringing this into this thread:

This is a bummer to hear, especially being on the verge of a new JURASSIC film hitting theaters in about five weeks.

Do we know which AAs are currently gone?

I wouldn't fret about the condition of this ride for too much longer. :)

That'd be an unfortunate downgrade if they replicated Hollywood's "finished" product.

Honestly, even in it's static defunct state, JPRA is better than JWRA

Ehhhhh, I don’t know about that. I miss the vibe of JPRA up until the lift hill, but that’s undercut quite a bit if most of the animatronics are in struggle mode. And once you hit the lift hill, JW absolutely rips.

I prefer the chaos of JPRA inside the building only having spent time at "Drop Control" of JW (and also monitoring test cycles by the post-lift hill dip while still under construction).

While the new I-Rex looks great, the whole T-Rex Kingdom doesn't have the same amount of dread & build-up as JPRA's "warning! Warning! System failure". That's always been the flaw with JW's post-lift hill, it should be in "melt down mode", but instead it has regular music, darkness (with "show lighting").. but no real "oh crap. We're not gonna make it" vibes.

IF JPRA got the JW redo, I'd hope they wouldn't rush & budget cut it to hell. Especially after opening Epic Universe.

I do wonder if the new movie is successful we see more influence from that end of the JW franchise (which leans more into the horror)

I think we'll see a full on refurb. If I recall correctly, before Universal decided on Velocicoaster, they were considering a full redo of JPRA as an alternative. They went with VC instead. Now, it's time for JPRA, I'm guessing. With Epic successfully opened, there's construction crews available.

What always bothered me as a JW ride-op was when JPRA was conceived years ago, they had plans for a Pteranodon Aviary the boat would pass through, but it was a victim of budget cuts.

When JW came out, we got the domed aviary in the film which the helicopter crashes into freeing the Pteranodons to cause chaos in Jurassic Citywalk.

When USH converted JPRA to JW, we got screenzzz ($$$$).. it just seemed like a missed opportunity to bring back the scrapped Aviary concept for the ride. Instead we ended up with "Predator Cove" minus any actual predators except for the post-pandemic I-Rex head lol

It would be interesting to see if they included the new "monster dino". I'm still lamenting the fact that JW2's Indoraptor wasn't added to the park (photo-op character or ride)

I am so ready for the rumor mill to start coming back, it’s been quiet for a long time now. I’d assume, if work begins this year or next, it should be ready for 2027. One two punch for the current resort to get a bump post full year of Epic operating. Also, gives Epic an extra year to add a Nintendo ride for 2028.

I'm curious on how long they'll need to shut the ride down if it's not a JW revamp.

I don't think much really NEEDS revamped outside of the animatronics.

So excited if this means a revamp. My son is a massive fan of dinosaurs, Mario, and HTTYD right now, so Universal will be a godsend. Like @Wesker69 , bringing the Indominus Rex to IoA would be awesome.

Haven't had a @Tomfoolery sighting in awhile, would appreciate a rumor two :eyes::eyes::eyes:

For sure - I'm saying I don't think there needs to be SWEEPING changes akin to a multi-year closure.
