I also don't know how important a bubble is to a great Universal Orlando vacation. Walt Disney World is basically the only resort like this in the world and I don't think Universal needs to match that standard. Just get the transportation between the two campuses up to snuff so guests don't feel it's a burden to get on a bus and transit over (and honestly, I don't know if it's "bad" now — I've not yet had a reason to go between the campuses). If it's similar to going from Animal Kingdom to Epcot ... I mean, that seems fine, right?

If you're content with just a typical resort, I think the split set-up is fine.

If you want a resort that attracts the kind of insane adults who buy merch themed to snacks sold in your parks, you probably need a bubble. I'm not sure Universal has committed one way or the other there yet.

Right, I just don't think it's possible for Universal (at least, as currently operated) to get there. Disney is singular in that regard and I don't think that's ever going to change.

I think in the future I will be visiting two resorts, the south and north campus. They will be both very different while having the Universal and Lowes quality. I never understood people who travel between theme parks within a day (exception for the Hogwars Express) as it takes away valuable theme park time from being on the road, it's a waist of time.
As a European guest it's always interesting to get from a stunning looking theme park area going into the ugly streets of the US, it's kind of a bonus to see the real thing.

Based on new bioreconstruction photos and video. We can see that a bunch of moving heads has been instelled very recently for the new nighttime spectacular. Lighting staging is pretty similar to opening-night fireworks, permanent lighting modular sets have been instelled on top of the oak and star tavern and first aid building, plus there are giant moving head spotlights next to the main fireworks foundation at the back of the Helio hotel.

Personal wish is that they have now got the projections and the moving head, now they could utilize a laser as well. When you look at the world of color at DCA, you can see that laser projections do a huge and fundamental job on the fountain show.

Is the concrete pad on the Potter plot (relatively) new? I don't recall that always being there.

Ok it’s way away from guest areas but there’s still something ironic about actively removing trees from this park…

Great stuff though. Hyped to watch this thing go up.

Universal really needs to fast track these two attractions.

If the rumors/speculation is that Potter is a pretty basic ride system, they really need to Transformers that thing and have it spring 2028. Monsters then take a full 2 years and open around fall. It’ll make HHN numbers go crazy at least for that year, when they make their most money anyways.

I heard a rumor somewhere that the Potter expansion is a indoor Vekoma coaster, so that might take a minute to construct. I think Monsters opens first.

Doesn't Vekoma almost exclusively work with Disney (at least in Orlando)?

I’ll just say the Mack designed boat system for Nightflight for Dollywood debuted yesterday. Here’s how it held up:
  1. Was running with only 6 out of 11 vehicles
  2. Back row was sectioned off, so only 8 out of 10 seats were being used.
  3. It ran for only three hours.
  4. By the end of the three hours only TWO boats were working.
I think Universal might have predicted these issues and decided to go a different direction.

I heard the new Monster attraction is a safari ride through a jungle. The RV can fit like 36 people? Made by some Ocean-something company?

Could be wrong, but I don’t believe the Mack rocking boat was ever really that attached to the Creature rumors. From what I remember, creature is/was always something closer to the Shanghai pirates system. The Mack rocking boat was always moreso attached to Zelda if I recall.

So I think these Nightflight issues might be more relevant in why Zelda rumors have died off lately as opposed to impacting anything with creature here.
