I know I would hate to loose the cobblestone, but if the trade off is a GREAT daily parade, then sign me up for the parade!

Yeah, it was pretty to look at, but way over done vertically. It was very awkward to walk on.

Could the "3.15" in the project name mean March 15th? It's either too obvious or has nothing to do with a date. I'm not sure they'd have a new parade or night show start March 15 which is still the middle of Mardi Gras. What could 3.15 mean?

^ Has there ever been any proof that a numbered project name meant anything in the past? I am not aware of it, which of course means nothing.

It's hard to say, because there realy haven't been an project names that were only numbers. The only one I can think of was Twister, which was "Project 911", an obvious meaning. The only other projects with numbers have appeared recently, 722 (Potter), 3.15AM/PM(Parade/Lagoon), and 37 (Team member parking expansion). If Potter is Gringotts, the 722 is an obvious refrence to the high security vaults, as the project is "high security/top secret" (kind of funny in hindsight...). And considering projects 3.15AM/PM aren't simply 315, i'd say there's a high chance at that project title having some sort of meaning as well...

I believe this permit was missed. The 'Esoteric Gate' refers to the faux studios gate for the fictional 'Esoteric Studios' entrance gate adjacent to the Pantages Theatre from which certain mobile entertainment objects exit to get to their show locations. This all but confirms a parade. And I'm on the boat regarding March 15th being an opening date for both shows.

If they do the daily parade in such a way they probably could enter the park from one gate and exit via the other, Example: Enter from Esoteric and exit out of beatlejuice... that way they can keep the crowd movement easy and not need to hold up crowds at one gate waiting for said parade to return to that gate like what happens for Christmas and will happen again for mardis gras.

The first few Mardi Gras parades should reveal a path or at least test some crowd flow patterns.

I don't think we'll be seeing the parade debut during Mardi Gras time but that's just me. I'd expect it to debut soon after (May or so..)

We'll hopefully find out a concrete date in a few days when the announcement takes place.

We might see if SOFT open during Mardi Gras, but the Grand opening may be afterwards.

Mardi Gras is a temp parade, with floats pulled by trucks. For a permanent parade to work they have to work out kinks, and I'm sure we'll see some form of a soft before then.

Even the ones from last year should indicate something. I think this parade will begin/end at those two aforementioned gates: Esoteric and Beatlejuice, to pave through Hollywood, Production Central (down the main street directly), and New York (by Mummy), or vice versa.

Also, regarding Mardi Gras and this new nighttime show being around the same time, I think there will be limited shows at first, with a March 15th projected opening (or maybe even soft). But, then again, we do have Wednesday's announcement right around the corner!

EDIT: What Vyrus said.

March 15, that's right around spring break... which might be a great time for extra events to begin.
(Valencia College Spring break is March 5 - 11)

New Hint!
From the Universal Orlando Facebook Page:
Are you ready for the first 2012 HINT?? Here’s a look at just one of many creations you’ll find celebrating in our streets this year…

It is obviously some kind of performer that would be walking in a parade.
Edit: Could also be Mardi Gras.... Didn't think of that.

That definitely seems to be a Mardi Gras related concept. The season kind of idea or theme that typically comes with their Mardi celebrations.

On a total side note. An idea that needs to be in a Universal parade if it happens would be classic character roaming oppertunities. Charlie Chaplin, The Marx Brothers(like the good ole days when they could be seen on the streets) and for some unique awesome points. An SoCal themed police car with youth looking actors on Bikes with one being Elliot. The others not Elliot peforming simple BMX stunts and maneuvers. :-D If Universal does a parade I want it to be an awesome cinematic based experience of blockbusters.

well i don't think they would just be teasing a mardi gras parade costume. They have been focusing mainly on the big new things on that FB page.

They also say this year, inferring that it is a permanent thing not a seasonal.

I don't think this year implies anything is permanent. Think of the phrase this year and how that is used for everything. Especially temporary sesaonal attractions like Mardi Gras and HHN.

Okay, so if this isn't going to be for Mardi Gras, what Universal movie could this tie to for the parade?

And Bee Movie was DreamWorks, not Universal

We'll find out soon enough but I totally thought a Bee Movie performer for the new daytime parade too, unless Mardi Gras is going to have some brand new floats and costumes this year too.
