We'll find out soon enough but I totally thought a Bee Movie performer for the new daytime parade too, unless Mardi Gras is going to have some brand new floats and costumes this year too.

The press release did mention this years theme:
This year's parade will take guests on a journey through the earth's different ecosystems with elaborately themed floats including: bayous and swamps, rainforest, coral reefs, the deep blue sea and Polar Regions.

and the website has this years list of floats:
Riverboat
Title
Jester
King and Queen
Music
Gator
New Orleans
Deep Blue Sea
The Polar Regions
Rainforest
Bayous & Swamps
Coral Reef

but none of those floats sound like needing a Bee stilt walker like that... unless it was in the rainforest or bayou for some reason...

I don't think we'll be seeing the parade debut during Mardi Gras time but that's just me. I'd expect it to debut soon after (May or so..)

We'll hopefully find out a concrete date in a few days when the announcement takes place.

I was originally thinking 3/15, but now that you mentioned May, it could also mean 31/5  It could be completely unrelated to a date, but since we have nothing else to speculate on... :P Could be!

If I were in UO Creative and I knew about us fanboys, I would totally start picking really random project names just to mess with us.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if 315 and 722 were accounting numbers.

To me the parade definitely looks WAY to kiddie, I was hoping for some of the elements from the one in Singapore, but something is definitely better than nothing

And HOP is finally in the park Briman was right last year

It really does. And nothing interests me besides the Despicable Me float . I just think it's ridiculous that it's called the Universal Superstars Parade.

And Karma finally got us I guess

I welcome this parade with open arms, this is what the park needs! It is going to help people feel like they got a full days worth of entertainment.

No don't get me wrong, it was definitely needed, but I was hoping for a mixture of Hollywood Dreams parade and other elements, not Spongebob, Hop, and Despicable Me.

At least throw a raptor or Trex in there somewhere

Oh I agree with you. It would be pretty grand. The T-Rex in Singapore is epic. But I will take this. Hopefully it proves well, and they can expand it. Add a float here and there.

I think people are missing the bigger point, which is operationally, they are turning into a full fledged Disney-style park.

Vyrus and I aren't saying they shouldn't do this. Just that they have already done better and we were hoping for more.

How do you know other things will be better? The parade hasn't been seen yet.

In terms of appealing to more people. Not in terms of quality.

As Walt would say, "Quality will out."

As long as it's quality, people will like it.

Bingo! Was just reading through and couldn't believe some of the disappointment. This parade is exactly what they needs and the "kids" will freaking love it. Not to mention the sheer amount of new character meet and greets will be a huge winner for the little ones as well. This parade alone will show us a large bump in attendance at the Studios. Families and Foreigners will be all over it.

Just because the park needs the parade doesn't me I have to like it. I have every right to be disappointed, but that also doesn't mean it's a bad move by Universal.

Apparently The Simpsons, RRR, Fear Factor considering they are among the latest additions to USF...

Its something needed, and it will definitely be cheesy based on the video I posted in the webcast thread that showed the "minions" doing a dance number. Its totally appealing to kids and they will have a blast with it.

Just means the lines on the rides well be better for a little while

Also according to the picture, the parade comes UP Hollywood Blvd, so its safe to assume that it will start by NYC and Beetlejuice, come down Production Central, up Hollywood, and out near the make up show.
