If someone ever creates a true time machine, the first trips I'm making are to theme and amusement parks from the 50s through early 90s. I really wish I could have experienced Disney and Universal prior to 2000 (first Universal visit was '04).

I still remember being terrified of Kong...and I always used to tell my mom it was me that saved us from the dinosaur in BttF. On my first ride on Jaws I sat right next to where he first pops up. I didn't ride it again for at least a few years. And after getting over my fear of upside down roller coasters I couldn't wait to ride the Hulk..I literally had dreams of it..and even one where it got destroyed by a tornado. I guess I was a really imaginative kid.

I think my first stop would be to visit Coney Island in its glory days of the early 1900's. I'd love to see the million lights of Steeplechase Park, Luna Park and Dreamland. I would have especially loved to ride the psycho roller coaster The Tornado.

No matter the risk of injuries, I'd definitely go back to Crystal Beach to ride the infamous Cyclone as well. Hopefully I pick the right day with nurses on the exit platform.

I loved those. They were always so over-dramatic and made the rides seem like more than they were (as a kid anyway.) Like the Jaws picture there, a full 2 pages of Jaws on the front of your boat eating it, with flames, like you're sinking. But they were always fun to pick up in the hotel lobby and look at in anticipation before going to the park.

And exactly what made me terrified of all those rides as a child!

Not sure if it's been posted, but I caught this one browsing through an article.

Also, not USF, but it's interesting to see Dudley in it's birthday suit.

A little more steeper drop, as far as angle is concerned.
