If the Tolkien estate are as much purists and sticklers for canon as we've heard, I doubt we're gonna get an original story. Sure, it adds extra interest and wonder to have a new original story, but I don't know if they'd allow it. The tour idea would be sort of like Frodo's journey (minus Frodo). BTW, when I said Frodo's journey, I meant going to the places Frodo and the gang visited, not necessarily re-living every single event he went through, but more for the stunning places we can visit

How about "A Journey into Middle Earth"?? Or maybe not because Journey is already used for Forbidden Journey lol

I think that something like this would be in such sensitive negotiations that even people in the know wouldn't say anything. So I wouldn't make a huge deal about this until we know more.

Martin isn't the first person to say TL's days are numbered, though

Obviously TL's days are numbered. That's pretty much a given at this point. It's just a matter of when and what replaces it.

They should just replace all the islands with DC.

So, I would assume that if LOTR is coming it will be both in conjunction with the Tolkien family, New Line and PJ? Talk about dotting your i's and crossing your t's.

If we assume Ripsaw Falls and the TL theatre would be ripped out, there is actually far more land space there than there is in the current WWoHP (excluding DD - so I mean for 'walkable' space & presumably one show building). Even if Bilge Rat Barges is kept, which is moot, it's a large area to play with. One well-chosen and incredibly well-executed location would go down pretty well, I think.

Convenient timing with the apparent leak crackdown, methinks.

Yessuh! So, it is cast in bronze: Lord of the Rings and/or The Hobbit land is opening at Universal Orlando Resort in 2017!

Hopefully this is for Middle Earth at large, including the Hobbit, and not limited to the trilogy. P&B would be perfectly suited to a barrel adventure out of Mirkwood. After all, we'd all come out as wet hobbits at the end!

Disagree. The two are independent of one another. Martin and Spirit have been saying LC is on its way out for months now. And Martin didn't come out proclaiming LOTR was a big new break he just got.

It seems that there's a lot of conflicting information regarding that though, since HTF said earlier that there's no plans to remove LC in the near future.
