I'm perfectly fine with this ride. It's more F&F that i'm skeptical about.

Agreed. I'm kind of hoping that the delay in F&F may mean something more than a bus ride. Maybe it won't but a person can hope.

When did you go? We were there on May 11th and everything was a walk on except Spiderman, FJ, and the one coaster. Even Gringotts was a 10 minute wait. I am sure the few I saw at 30 minutes at other points were way less than 30 minutes. Like Spiderman was a walk on earlier in the day.

Gotcha weekend was busy because of the locals. Makes sense. Were all the other days pretty much what I experienced on Monday? It was awesome, to bad my daughter was not feeling well. We could have gone on stuff multiple times and still ridden everything we wanted. As it was we left way before closing.

But we all know I have said before I felt lines were longer with less capacity based on what I experienced in October and that was before everything was closed. I imagine it is worse now. I have always thought Studios was short on capacity.

Weekdays were very May average. Not overly busy at all. I was at CBBR for a few days before I moved to Portofino and I was able to get by without Express, using single rider a lot. But then Saturday came and both parks were slammed as soon as the gates opened, even before. We spent almost an hour waiting for FJ during early entry. That never happened before. I was in parts of the FJ queue that I didn't know existed. :)

When are you going? We were at CBBR Sun. Mon. & Tues. for the parks and had no trouble getting by without Express. We used single rider & rode in the mornings & evenings. Afternoons were at the pool. Only Saturday was slammed and we were at Portofino by then. Kind of normal May crowds on most of the days. But I wouldn't want to be in the parks during peak times of the year without Express. Too much down capacity in a time when attendance has been increasing.

Hey Guys!
What do you all think about the hight of the building facade? Do you think the building structures will continue to grow higher or no. I would love to see the facade cover most of the soundstage, but as of right now that is not looking to be so. Thanks!

Aug 13-20. I have 3 kids so single rider is not an option for us unfortunately. I know it will still be fun either way. My first visit since 2010 and my first time ever staying onsite.

Willing to bet you'll see the facade grown and be more representative to NYC. If there's one aspect of the project I'm excited about, it's the facade.

NY is one of our favorite areas of the park to sit, enjoy the ambiance, & people watch. It'll be nice to see that area more NY like. That was really the ugly step sister section of NY when Twister was there. It just never looked like it belonged...... Heh, I almost bought that old rusted metal wheel from Twister that was in the replica shop. I was going to wheel it back to Portofino & put it in the back seat of the car. But when I went to pick it up, it was heavy as all heck. So that ended that idea. It would have cost a small fortune to ship with that size & weight. :)

That's probably going to be a really crowded week. You might want to consider Royal Pacific for Express, if it doesn't kill your budget ( or maybe try 4 days at Cabana & 3 nights at Royal Pacific, which would translate into 4 days of Express passes).....Lot's of changes to the Studio's since your last visit. Almost like a new park to experience.

Yes to that, especially the mid day breaks. It's too hot at that time in Florida anyway. Best to relax & cool off at the pools. Early morning and late evening lines are considerably less than those at mid day.

The good news is Orange County Schools go back to school really early, so you won't be dealing with as many locals. Not sure when the rest of Florida goes back to school though.

That is our week 15-20th staying at Hard Rock.
The only problem with the late night plan? The park schedule has one park closing at 8 the other at 9 that week. Sure would be nice if they stayed open just a bit longer in those hot weeks of August.

I don't know how much higher it will go, but if it is anything close like Times Square with the colors and light motion activity, we're in for a blast and I couldn't be more ecstatic. As with any case, Universal, facade wise, has NOT let me down yet. I fully expect to be blown away from the facade alone as Testtrack321 has stated.

I remember someone saying a while back that Universal wants to be open later but feels they are maybe 10% away from attendance figures that would make it worthwhile.

Yes, Universal does close a little too early. When we go in the evenings we usually arrive at 5:00 until closing. In the mornings we hit early entry and stay till noon or 1:00.

Yeah, Saturday was the longest early/ mid May lines I've seen in the parks since I've been vacationing there every spring. Even Express waits were fairly long, and I've never experienced that before. They were more like Disney Fastpasses than Hotel Express. They really need more capacity, especially with all these attendance increases. I just can't see them shutting down Kidzone until they get more of the attractions up & running. (We waited more than 30 minutes for Simpson's via Express, as an example)

Sounds like I got lucky, was in the parks 7,8,9 May and found the crowds more than manageable, Disney wasn't too bad either.
Saying that though this was my first time in May and I am used to July, Aug or Sept crowd levels.
