HHN Hollywood General Discussion - 2017

Personally, I feel like all those Blumehouse movies feel alike to me. I worry that if we get a Blumehouse mash up maze, I will have no idea where one movie begins and another ends. They're all pretty mediocre and interchangeable to me.

They'll be pretty easy to tell apart, as most of them have their own settings. As far as it's looking right now these might be the settings for the properties in the maze:

Sinister in the church from Sinister 2
Ouija in a house
Get Out in a house, but the hospital scenes
Split in a "cave"
Purge on French Street

Well they could have transitional beginnings like they did with ahs last year

actually split is in a underground tunnel not a cave

Are they gonna give the ending to Shining a faux roof like they did to Exorcist? Hope they don't leave it out in the open like that

Yea, it wouldn't make any sense to have a roof of any kind over the finale segment. If they were able to give it a "night sky" effect, then sure cover it.
From atop the escalators, the setup seems to work perfectly in that by the time the hedge maze reaches the tent, you're going to be inside the hotel. By the time you leave the hotel and get back into the hedge maze, you're back outside. When you look up in the hedge section, you may barely see the top of the upper lot from the last part of it, but the ambiance will still hold up because you're literally outside. I think that works perfectly with the setup of the venue and might be why Murdy and Chris chose the Mummy venue for the location.

If anything, I would argue that a ceiling would ruin the effect and make it look like a room instead of a hedge maze. Now, if you could make the entire maze in a black tent, it would still work, but being literaly outside in those portions makes it feel much more natural.

The only problem (and not that much of a big deal) with having it be outside is if it rains, even though that's a small chance. It would be the only maze closed down if that happens because guests and scareactors would probably be annoyed having to be out in the rain during the last act. I don't know the history of bad weather at HHN Hollywood, so I think we'll be fine on that.

They will probably end up putting a felt roofing over the final section to stop light from other scares "bleeding" into the scenes.HHN never spends to much time on ceilings. They usually place felts or an extremely thin layer of dry wall over the wall paneling. That being said, they may not have a roofing over the final section because they have already started adding 1X4 to hang the lights on.

UPDATE: Looking back at it they may just be for structural support.

I saw the advertisement for the IT haunted house experience and I'm a little confused. Hasn't Murdy not done IT because he could never get the rights to do it? Yet these people (Neibolt House) seemed to have had no trouble...

Neibolt House isn't some haunt company who got the rights. The house on Neibolt street is a location from the book/film. Neibolt House Hollywood is just the name of the experience.

I know you guys will take this with a grain of salt since I'm new here, but I heard from a friend on the inside that the Blumhouse of Horrors will only feature The Purge, Sinister, and Happy Death Day. No Split or Get Out, surprisingly.

And that every maze leak here was correct (save for ToT, which kept us guessing), but we already knew that.

You know you can edit your posts, right. ;)

Meanwhile, welcome to the forums.

Honestly, I can see this happening. As long as they keep Sinister in there, I'm fine with it. Though worst case scenario is that we were all wrong about a Blumhouse mashup, and it got lost in translation that it was just a Purge maze.
