I think it's going to be much more of a coaster than most people think. Highly themed, but not many "scenes"

So that we're all on the same page in terms of semantics, what would be an example of a coaster (already in existence) that you would call "highly themed" in the way you suspect/expect this new Potter one might be? Big Thunder?

idk about fake or not, but I imagine a LOT of trees are going to cover the area almost completely. and I don't think there will be much of a viewing area (dragon challenge issue) so I imagine trees trees trees.

Probably won't even be able to see the forest because of all the trees.

I legit couldn’t tell you. Don’t know much about this other than I trust the people saying it will be highly themed, and more of a coaster than a dark ride.

But yes Big Thunder is something I would put in that category, though I’m not expecting much rockwork.

Trees and close to the ground will give a similar effect. I think this coaster will up the ante for Orlando.

Universal has been the leader in groundbreaking rides and not afraid to experiment. I think they will do a threepeat here. (FJ, Gringotts, now this) Look at Spidey, MiB and even Mummy for direction on what they are willing to do. This is a speculation thread right?

I don't think anyone questions there will be a ton of really cool crap jammed in this ride. But the "thrill" is interesting to speculate about. For example, some members of my family that are less....let's say theme park enthusiasts, are underwhelmed by Gringotts. Because if what you want is a coaster, it's kinda lame.

I don't think it will go faster than Mummy (40 mph), but I think the aforementioned trees could make it seem like it does. But that makes impactful show scenes like Gringotts has hard to do. The middle ground, which is sounds like this is, doesn't really exist anywhere yet.

I agree, this is not a "thrill" ride but it should be a "satisfying" ride.

I ride Gringotts at least 3 times a visit. (didn't today, first time) just to average my 6 hours spent in line at opening down. I like it but a "must" ride. No way. Wish they would have built what we expected. A "thrilling ride through the vaults of Gringotts Bank"

Great comment. I have to keep reminding myself that thrill or not this ride will be amazing. Mainly because unlike ff or Fallon its potter, uni ain't never taking a step back with potter. (hell they're not allowed to)

I'd rather a purposeful focus on execution of the basics than simply another new ride vehicle concept shoved into the same creative model.

If they have well designed scenes, a sensible themed narrative that is well paced (from a story and 'thrill' perspective) and uses supplemental tech appropriately - I don't care if it's just a train using gravity to meander down a track.

If they don't end up expanding the village by just a little, I do expect them to modify the previous entrance of DC to be a lot more noticeable because people would still think that the new ride is still at the castle.

Do you mean that people would think Hippogriff is the new coaster? Cause if so, that would just suck for Uni lol

Has a manufacturer been announced yet?

Imagine it was something like this:

Highly unlikely for too many reasons to list but I wanted to share none the less.

I've been keeping a very close eye on all trademarks registered by Universal, Warner Bros and all their corespondents and nothing has shown up yet so I don't think it's looking good.

On the flip side, the trademark could be incorporated into an existing Harry Potter trademark so it might not show but I'm getting the impression that this coaster will be separate from Harry Potter and focus more on the world created rather than Harry Potter himself which makes sense since I don't think they'll get the original cast back to film scenes.

With how Osaka had in the cards once of a previously thought of Forbidden Forest coaster, I'm surprised that we haven't gotten any substance of them maybe even reusing the name of that attraction.

I would think that if they would've announced it, it would've been at Opening Ceremony.

Honestly, with Supercharged and that we are still in the midst of booking season for the resort, the best course of action for the coaster (and T2Replacement) is to hold off on announcing them fully until Late August/Early September, as that would be a time that I would think make sense.

Wait until Disney makes a major announcement, then announce the HP coaster attraction specifics the next day to one up Disney. :)
