This past trip to Six Flags over Texas I had two girls filming New Texas Giant using their iPhones in front of me. I held up my arm the whole time. I wish they had mandatory lockers at that point.

Anyway guys, back on topic please. We've had this detour for a bit.

I know you said back on topic but I have to hear your opinion on New Texas Giant. To me- its my favorite coaster at Six Flags and one of the best coasters in the country. What were your thoughts?

So, may be a dumb question, but would that mean the Ford Anglia would be one of the first things rider's see then?

Based on the layout thats been on here, yes.

As a resident near Six Flags over Texas it was great to see them turn the old wooden Monster into a hybrid. The Ride i very smooth and a lot more enjoyable across a greater spectrum of audience compared to the old wood and cart beating.

On this new coaster I am just excited for a new adventure. I was very bummed with the departure of DC with it being my personal favorite. However, I am happy to see that it is going to be a coaster and excited to see how the new queue will be themed. That's the best part about the WW is its total submersion IMO.

A couple minor notes:

1. Pretty sure the ride will take place at the edge of the castle grounds and in the Forbidden Forest.

2. We had the ride path direction backwards.

Yes. Start out of Fire station, end in Ice's.

Awesome. I don’t know why, I found it a little odd that one of the first things you’d see out of the station was the queue.

I think the view of the queue from the ride will be blocked by new rockwork regardless actually. At least at that section anyway.

You have to wonder if Universal is kicking themselves just a bit now for using the Forbidden Journey name for Hogwarts. It’s a great name, but it does complicate the naming of the new ride.

They probably didn't know that Dragons would experience a steep drop in popularity.

I would much prefer a Triwizard Tournament coaster, since both FJ and FotH involve Hagrid.

Completely agree. Hagrid is one of the few characters that could anchor a Potter ride. If it revolves around him, they could leave Harry, Ron, and Hermione out completely and I wouldn’t mind.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that's exactly the plan.

A big character who’s available and given the idea for the ride, it makes sense. It seems like one of those projects that just creates itself and ends up as a well thought out and polished experience.

I'm up for Hagrid totally replacing Hermione on Gringotts and Hogwarts Express if it means we lose that horrible voice actor.

Been awhile since I've read up on this ride. Scanned back multiple pages before posting. My understanding this is an outdoor coaster with indoor scenes. Heard a rumor recently that the entire ride would be enclosed. Any truth to this?

Seems like the info on this site tends towards highly themed outside with one medium indoor scene and two short indoor scenes/effects or whatever.
