I'm the opposite. The first couple of years of FJ I got mildly nauseated after one ride and even more so if I followed that with a second ride soon after. But then, the year they tuned the movement down a bit, I rode and no motion sickness at all. And none since then. The clearer screens should be even better I think. The blurred screens have always been my only criticism of my opinion of FJ as the best theme park ride in Orlando, Disney or Universal....Simpsons also, is fine for me. The only Universal ride I got major motion sickness on was Dragon Challenge , and now that's gone. But I have not tried Storm Rider, since that type of flat ride is usually an invitation to major motion sickness.

Yeah, I don't do the "spinny tea cups" either

As ever, I AM WRONG! There is a texture on the outter covering! I apologize. You can see the texture reflection at 1:40 and 3:00 in this video:

That said, the way I would achieve this is with a clear acrylic paint and just paint brush daubs of a half inch at varying angles all over a sheet of plexiglass. This is the kind of product I used decades ago:

Attended Gradbash last night and it was beyond amazing. Security in the queue was extremely high and the line for FJ was extremely long. It started in the under castle, and the queue was also extended by the greenhouse. Also, there was no ambiant music in the queue or even around a lot of the park. The projections on the ride were breathtaking. The ride in general is good and for the first time a few of the dementors scared me. The ride movement itself is kinda shakey at times but fine. The whomping willow was not functioning, and the dragon scene is a little slow IMO. You get right in front of it and are kinda just waiting like 5 seconds for it to blow hot smoke in your face. I could SMELL the fireplace place in the first scene and was so happy. Also the show was going on around every night 20-25 with fireworks shooting at random. I found it weird that the show was going on since no one knew it was going on meaning no one was watching it, and they could have chosen to tune it off but didn't. Still, I found it nice walking by it. It was very hectic but something I will never forget.

Here's a POV of HPFJ in USJ after the 2018 upgrades. You'll notice some differences

USH’s flu powder network is somuch nicer than ours, and their chamber of secrets looks deathly scary. The ominous colored lights that are placed in the smaller crevasses of the chamber of secrets really draw your eyes to those certain parts of the scene. And the Demetors with the hands coming out of the openings above you with hands looks amazing. I don’t know if it’s just me, but their screens look higher quality or just a little more deltailed. I rode ours yesterday, and boy did it look nice, but theirs just looks alottle more detailed.

USJ isn't 3D. Just reopened from a heavily advertised "refresh" in March. There's some different transitions that they have that we don't have between scenes. Like after the first Dome watch what the dragon does.

It’s probably just me then. I need a comparison video and then it’ll probably be super obvious.

Anyone know if our update includes USH's much better flu powder network at the beginning and end? I actually miss the old effect that had stone passageways instead. :-( I know it made people sick but it was very convincing and fun to me.

That's very odd. If they're upgrading the other carousel sequences anyway, why not just transfer that one update from USH as well? Maybe they aren't done? In my head it's as simple as dragging a new file into a folder on Microsoft Windows but obviously it's more involved than that.

yeah, I'm not sure. It's a pretty small part of the screens compared to the rest of the screens, though. Only on them for a few seconds. They did update hermione's projector at the beginning, though. so

For a good two to three years it was like you were flying through a chimney with the bricks (or passageways, I always thought it looked like a chimney).
