Epcot (General Discussion)

The fact they missed the boat on re-doing an Imagination pavilion based on the Marvel comics blows my mind. It seemed like the perfect source material for a romping adventure.

Rumor has it that Figment will be moved into the theater for some sort of show while the dark ride will be getting an Inside Out overlay.

I don’t have a problem with Disney/Pixar characters placed throughout Epcot, but Marvel doesn’t fit into this park. Cosmic Rewind will be fun, especially if they nod to old Epcot attractions. but IMO doesn’t fit. Load up Hollywood Studios with Marvel since that’s what MCU is: a Hollywood blockbuster franchise.

You misunderstand what he was talking about. He was talking about using the Figment and Dreamfinder characters, just the version portrayed in their Marvel mini-comic.

My bad! I’m not a big comic books fan and didn’t know about the Figment comics.

That’s an old, not-totally-accurate rumor.

Yea, was just about to say. Outdated rumor, and only one of many possible but never actually greenlit concepts if what I’ve heard is true. I think they waffled back and forth and never decided on anything for so many years that now with the pandemic it’s just gonna sit unchanged for awhile.

Figured it wasn’t likely due to COVID now. Easy plus up IMO once the Mouse is back to making money hand over fist. The Imagination Pavilion’s current iteration feels so outdated now.

They chose FEA over Imagination with that last rumor. We haven't gotten any silly season rumors in a long time for Imagination so my assumption is they're not bothering to change it.

I believe you, but the Inside Out Imagination Pavilion rumor was bouncing around D23 last year. Speculation was Disney was keeping the project under wraps to not piss off the Figment fans. No doubt nothing will happen for a long time now, though.

Personally, I’d like to see Inside Out get a Cranium Command style show and Figment reverted back to the Dreamfinder version.

If so that's good, but with COVID I imagine the project is on ice.

I truly don't get the appeal of this "Instagram wall" stuff.

I guess people really like getting their pictures taken in front of ugly patterns.
Well just like every fad, people will get wise to it or bored of it and it will stop working. These walls are just like all the kitschy stuff DCA had when it opened.
