Again, I don't agree. They way it's filmed means it's almost completely out of alignment from how you would be seeing things with the goggles on your face.

Maybe the same issues for you will still be there, but until we all sit in the ride vehicle we really have no idea what the ride experience is like. This is maybe the hardest ride to judge from a POV we've ever seen

I’d hope so. It really would be immersion breaking to have the racers projected on top of the people in the first row. I’d never sit in the back because of it.

Seeing people saying on social media that now there’s no way there going to build Mario Kart in the other Universal parks.

To which I say, when has Nintendo ever not done something due to fan “outrage”, hahaha.

I’d imagine since it’s your eyes following it that it won’t happen that way, I can’t imagine this wasn’t thought of. They’ll fly over them it seems for sure but not like bounce of their head hopefully, characters are coming from left and right haha. Part of that is the game aspect though I’m sure just gotta add more things in.

Regardless of differing opinions, if people honestly think this won't have a constant 120 min wait time at least, they're insane.

Like all Nintendo products, the fans will moan and groan about something not being 100% they want, and in 5 years they'll all gush about how it's great and a classic and they always thought so.

Yes, we as theme park fans often forget we're like, maybe 1% of the audience for these rides. As long as the GP thinks it's fun, and I will be shocked if this isn't a smash hit with them, that's all that will matter

Despite the small disappointments I have, whenever I finally have the opportunity to enter SNW (whether it be in EU or Kidzone), I'll be making a beeline straight to MK. I am just so, so giddy watching the videos of the land in its entirety.

I've been discussing with my fiancée - but do you guys think that Nintendo will draw larger crowds than Hogsmeade did?

It’s so difficult to say with Covid overall but I’d think so, yes. The Hogwarts ride limits people from riding (or they feel sick after) and none of these rides will likely do that, even DK. If anytbing people are going to be able to see what they’re getting into as well do judgements can be made beforehand. Appeals to families, is incredibly designed, and the rides are winners. Perfect for a new 3rd theme park I can really see why Universal wants this specifically to be the anchor for opening the new Park

No. It will be a huge boon at every resort it opens at, but the opening of Hogsmeade at IOA was absolute lightning in a bottle that is really hard to replicate.

See maybe it’s my love for Nintendo but to me this is ridiculously well done, other than EU possibly as a whole I feel this has to be the closest thing to that, sucks it’s during the times we’re in though. Could benefit Orlando in the long run since many people will he anxiously waiting to visit and it will have DK as a separate draw from Hollywood.

Just based off the POV video, even the one without the AR showing. The sets that the ride goes through look really fun and enjoyable. I love a good dark ride and just the ride and physical sets seem to knock it out of the park. Throw in the AR and interactiive qualities and it should be a blast. As someone who is not a gamer, I can see where this ride might be difficult to get the hang of at first. However, it just looks like a lot of fun. The Yoshi ride is another nice slow partial dark ride. I do think that the Donkey Kong coaster will fill in the gaps for the land by introducing a little more thrill.

Also, I don't think that it is fair to compare Galaxy's Edge with SNW. One is more spread out and one feels more intimate. However, if I had to base which I would prefer to go to on the videos alone, I would probably pick SNW as it has walkthrough attractions plus the rides. Again, almost impossible to compare the two. It is better to judge each one on its own merits.

I think at the very least, SNW will have the constant crowds that Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley do. Maybe we'll get that included in Early Park Admission lmao

Nothing, including Diagon to SWGE, had the same reaction to Hogsmeade. Nothing.

Oh I think SNW at opening is a far better land than Hogsmeade was at opening. But Hogsmeade's opening was a perfect storm. HP was still at the zenith of pop culture at the time, the movies were still coming out, and it was the first, huge IP land.

Since, like Joe said, the food will likely be different here in the states - I wonder what kind of stuff we'll get. I'd like to think we'd at least get some relatively unique options, comparable to the stuff at Galaxy's Edge.

but not towards Sticker Star, Amiibo Festival, the Wii U, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Metroid Prime Federation Force, Chibi Robo Zip-Lash, Yoshi's New Island, Star Fox Zero.

What is up with you guys, you're all being very snarky about other people's opinions of this ride. People aren't going to like it and they aren't going to like it for reasons you think aren't valid. Big whoof.

Just something to remember:

This is a partnership between Universal AND Nintendo; meaning this is just as much as what Nintendo wanted as their Mario Kart attraction.

Because 100% of the people making opinions of this ride on the forum have not ridden it, and are basing it off a video or other people's opinions. Admittedly, there's a fine line in the discussion of criticism but that's my major gripe.

I'm being snarky with people's opinions who are sure it is bad or defective yet have not ridden this ride, yes.

There is not a single ride in the world that is a better experience on a POV video than what you feel while actually riding it

So no one's opinion of this ride is valid because no one has ridden it basically.
