Good write up about Velocicoaster and possible technical issues it's facing

I thought the black track may end up being a bit problematic for the ride

Now that I think about it, there's really no black coasters in the state is there?

IDK, I remember bringing it up when the ride was being constructed but didn't really pursue the discussion further

We'll see how this all shakes out

Weld a couple of bungs to the track and pipe in some LN2. You get fog effects and track cooling ;)

Forgot to mention a few months back, but there is a Mr. DNA recorded voice message for those stopped on the 2nd launch. He says something along the lines of "Sometimes you don't make it over the hill all the way, to try again you're going to launch backwards than forwards again, kinda like a slingshot." It's been months though so I can't remember it word for word.

That's awesome!

They mentioned working on a special smell for the raptors. Has anyone noticed a particular scent?
To me it smells like the barn smell they use at HHN, but maybe they added a lizard scent to it or something idk

Unfortunately the line moves so fast I usually wiz right past the raptors

I think it’s a mix of animal barn / dirt / and atmosphere (like ozone after the rain) scents. In addition to the stables in the queue, I believe it also used to be sprayed near the waiting track before load… although it seemed to be off last couple times I rode. Not sure.

Man I just rode this for the first time in a while and did this get significantly rougher/shaky over the last few months or did I just have a bad car?

I rode it a bunch before it opened and it was smooth as glass. Then I rode it a few times last month and it’s SO much shakier. Someone mentioned it being the wheels?

No, it's definitely gotten a little shakier recently. For now, it's not too bad and definitely nowhere near as bad as Hulk's or Rip Ride's, but it could become a big problem long-term.

The wheels wear fast on this ride. I’ve gotten a really smooth ride recently, but many very bumpy. Might rely on how worn the wheels are on that particular train that moment of that day.

Also, there’s always been one train that’s rough! I got it first week and was surprised, was told that one is always like that. You never know if you’re gonna get it.

It is also not uncommon for park's to use softer neoprene wheels for the grand opening period to get those "it's so smooth" reviews and switch to a harder wheel when to soft ones wear out.

Hopefully it can stay relatively smooth--Mako for example is still smooth as glass, so no excuses!

I agree that one of the trains is rougher than the others, though I've only had one ride I thought was truly rough and that was in the first month. Even then, the lap bars made it a far more comfortable experience than Hulk.
