It was a joke bud, the land is not the Kiddie land thats being assumed with a launch coaster that's likely 48" and Sky Fly at 51" .

I think everyone needs to chill with the heavy skepticism, you could reduce anybody's favourite park in the world to a sterile list of rides and state how unexciting they sound but a park is more than the sum of that ride list. As ive said previously youre getting an opening day park thats already the equivalent to a fully built out IOA. with room to grow by a further 50% in the following years. New Park, and a lot more room for growth at USF. The bright future that is ahead for Universal Orlando cannot be understated, especially in the awesome fact that in this forum we get to argue about what rides are coming, in other places theyre still arguing about whether a cool new ride should even be built in their precious park and wondering if the only other ride they have to look forward will ever be finished, that's an empty glass situation right there

Pessimism feedback loop.

Not to mention all this pessimism is over a PATENT (how often do those actually translate 1:1 to something that's actually built?) possibly related to ONE ride in a park 3.5 years away from opening that we still have very little actual details about outside of one land that's been built elsewhere to great guest satisfaction.

I just don't get it. I have my qualms about the park, but I think everything rumored leads me to believe it will be at worst the 3rd best park in Orlando on opening day.

Feels like there’d be less pessimism or negativity overall if y’all just accept that one or two people aren’t going to be hype about every project, rather than spend a whole page focusing on like one or two posts.

If the land is based in Paris in 1920 is there any chance that the show could be based around the circus/freak show shown on FantasticBeasts2???

Surprised no one’s brought up Lord of the Rings in awhile

Ok so I know this is a joke, but it brought me down a hypothetical business angle.

Based on what we believe to be the current need of the existing parks and what EU may offer:
If Universal acquires an IP similar to LotR (I.E no connection to current IPs, can support an immersive land), should that IP automatically go in EU expansion?

We know Potter may be in all 3 parks and it's spread has been beneficial to attendance/spending. We've theorized that something similar can be done with Nintendo - ex. Pokemon in Studios and Zelda in IOA. If this is the plan (which we don't know for sure it is) it would make sense to me to have an IP similar to LoTR go into EU.

Thoughts?

I do think Epic Universe is likely the space for it.

I’m not at all a super fan of LOTR/Hobbit, but, are they separate enough of franchises to have LOTR in EU, and the Hobbit in IOA?

I'm not really skeptical about the park. I think it'll be fine. The MoM elevator ride/ToT 2.0 is what I've been saying they should build for years now. I like that a hell of a lot better than the moving bookcases that FB2 seemed to include as a theme park ride idea. Hell I'm good with the VR broom deal if it happens. I'm not sold on that much room for HTTYD, but I don't doubt the end product will be fun. Nintendo will be solid and Monsters may be the best land in the park when it's all said and done. I just tend to look at both sides of things and can see why someone wouldn't be excited. I know some people take that like someone personally attacking their children, but that's the internet these days.

If they were to ever spread the property across multiple parks (which I'm not saying they would or should), I think it's much more likely to be split across Middle-Earth geographic lines, not specifically split by LOTR and HOBBIT areas. There's way too much overlap of locations, characters, and general design aesthetics in the LOTR and HOBBIT trilogies.

I'm thinking a custom Mack powered invert for an LotR ride (eagle's claw that takes you over various Middle Earth locale--"Lord of the Rings: There and Back Again*"), not that I think it ever happens.

*YES I KNOW THAT WAS THE HOBBIT SUBTITLE I DON'T CARE

I strongly favor Zelda being put in EU. More space!
The park needs a Castle weenie.
And Hyrule Castle is perfect for it.

(I really hope Harry Potter is reconsidered Because it's overkill at this point.)
Lord of The Rings would be a great addition too, just not sure what would be use for attraction wise with it. But then again, I haven't watched all films of it.

And can we get a Futurama ride?!
Or even a Bob's Burgers!

I've been okay with more Potter because I've been anticipating the ride to be something mind-blowing. If it involves practical sets being switched in and out, it may still be.

*I want to make perfectly clear that this is all fun and games, and that I have far more pressing concerns than what technology is used in a theme park attraction. It's just an interesting thing to talk about, a distraction from those more pressing concerns.*

I've just been trying to figure out what would the ride be?
We've got a quidditch esqe ride on FJ.
Gringotts ride.
Hagrids and another small roller coaster

I mean I guess the new ride could be based on Fantastic Beasts which the land will be too

I just can't get on board given how lackluster those films have been too

But nevertheless, you are right. The ride would still be rather incredible, regardless of what it's about.

pretty sure both are Fox (so now Disney) unfortunately. I wish we got a Futurama ride, that could be great

good news for you, Fantastic Beasts has been rumored to be reconsidered and they don't seem to be going with that anymore

And just gonna post to remind everyone that, a Luigi's Mansion based dark ride would be super beneficial to Universal to rival against The Haunted Mansion at Disney.
Because Universal doesn't have any creepy "horror" rides.
Give me a slow mover ride through the fancy ghostly mansion where you can see the residents disappear and re appear around and watch Luigi suck them up!
While huming the theme!
