I really hope we get a dark horror IP similar to what evil dead was gonna be like .

Im a sucker for IP houses, especially when they are based on actual horror

The entirety of the Carey maze got a so-so feedback. It was very messy; even for an HHN fan. Bloodngutz was done dirty.
The Cleaver segment was a blast tho.

I agree that the main weakness of the house was not the properties themselves but rather the storytelling of the house. You can easily go to HHN for years and never know what Carey, Ohio is. For reference, I took someone through this house who, while still substantial, did not have nearly the history with this event that I do, but much like me, they go to appreciate the artistry and craftspersonship of the event. *This house was completely incoherent to them until we went on the Behind the Screams tour.* A house that requires that level of backstory to understand can't help but face a muted response because even as a fan of HHN, you could have seen all of the stories, some of the stories, or none of the stories, and reliance on nostalgia can't provide cover for your storytelling gaps. Surprisingly, Icons, even to someone without a doctorate in HHN history, made much more sense as it's based on horror tropes and the facade and transitions work to tell the story better.

I suspect that Carey, as difficult as this was to grok for longtime HHN fans, was even worse for the average person. All that to say that any individual property pulled out of that house has lots of potential.

I wouldn't mind another Vampire house in our future even if honestly there could be another sequel for Castle Vampyr, the sequel to the original 17 was definitely a bit weak but also it was moreso the placement, it did seem well at the time to be place there, Hive 2 even being an easter egg in slaughter sinema, I don't see it really getting a sequel especially so recent but anything can happen.

I feel some of the properties in Scarey, can't really replicate what the originals really did, for example Bloodengutz and Leave it to Cleaver, the originals were very well done, Spawning needed a face lift and definitely tried their best, I know fans of Carey would love for some of the properties to come back and in a way, an easter egg or appearance here or there in the future is possible but a full-fledged house for some of em I don't see it as some of the properties in the house have established themselves, I don't see them going back to replicate those houses again fully but only partially for anniversaries.

It was Evil Dead Rise, featuring a high rise apartment building.

Very different location. You can’t use the usual suspects for it.
How about one of those korean zombie movies! It's one on netflix that takes place in a high rise. It's also another one about monsters and the military that also takes place in a high rise.

Just do a Chucky house, it's time for a new one.
I’m really shocked that that wasn’t planned for this year with the show which is returning for a second season this fall and it’s a Universal property and that photo op they did last year. If they were able to whip that together as a replacement for Evil Dead, I’d be really happy and excited with that. Love Chucky and we’ve had him in a house just once at least I think.

My dream replacement would be a sequel, IP, and original all rolled up into one.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 3D.

That was originally going to be the title of the scrapped sequel and then they had the TV show coming and now are back to square one. So it would be an original the sense that it's not a recreation of an existing film or TV series. I'm sure the owners of the IP would be quick and easy to sign a contract same with the music composer.

Already have the costumes and a 3D house with lots of monochromatic backgrounds with selected spots of neon paint is a relatively cheap and quick build.

Doesn't look like we have a comedy house this year so it would fill in that gap nicely.

How was the Exorcist maze at 26 ? I believe it was well received last year in Hollywood. Hope they replace the lost IP with another IP. The originals are always my favorite but the IPs get me excited for the event.

MGM owns Klowns and I think Netflix pretty much let the rights die but honestly Hollywood's seems to be just a repeat, here's to hoping a Klowns sequel in the future.

I still wondered why Universal didn't feature Drag Me to Hell in the Silver Screams haunted house since they featured two recent films at the time, the remake of My Bloody Valentine and The Strangers which scene was just sorta standing in there lol, it would have been a good way to feature the property in the house but at least Ms. Ganush was featured in Horrorwood Die-In.

Would really love and Treaks and Foons original house this year. It would be the more comedic maze of the year, and could bring back the most famous fear, clowns. I think it would be really fun, and if the scarezone are right, they have costumes for them, so.

Honestly I don't see them really being the same level as the first Dead Exposure and Nightingales, the first Nightingales can't be touched by any sequel, the first Dead Exposure had a better interesting story and due to it being apart of 2008. Its honestly best creative to be given the freedom to do other things than just being pushed to do sequels. They have handful of ideas not all of em include sequels.

DE2, they should've gone with photography again.

Blood Pit, I thought was a genius concept. Wish they had used the old masks (wonder if OSHA forced the change?) but the real problem is that pretty much every era most people really want to see them in is completely untouchable. The Revolutionary War maybe, but every environment from that time was much too wide open to make a house (I would've suggested Battle of Saratoga in Central Park but they severely handicapped that area's potential for the lagoon viewing area (no structure allowed)).

A Bloodengutz sequel could only disappoint, sadly. I would've loved to see a Classic Monsters broadcast from Hellgate as that's about the only cohesive theme I can think of that could be realistically done but the CMs are very clearly set up to be a permanent fixture for their own houses going forward.

I think it would be great if they did a blast from the past and brought back an original maze in its original layout. Not a sequel but the same maze. Like they did with AWIL. But not from the year before, from like 10 or 20 years ago. I didn't start going until 09' and there are so many mazes I wish I could've gone through from then. Would be great to experience some of those.
