Oh I don't read them, I'm just saying general, it became a twitter warfare over it lol, I do feel bad that people give HNN a lot of flack when they're trying to do something they love, shouldn't happen to such nice guys.

I for one don't mind all the spec maps.

Horror Night Nightmares has a track record showing that they do a great job. So I pay attention to theirs and put some weight to it. If you search for HHN31 Spec Map on google, you get some ridiculous ones like someone had the 4 sound stages as being Strangers Things seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4. Someone else has 12 Stephen King houses. Hey, to each their own.

That actually may have something to do with a Spec Map wish list around pandemic times where the community was asked to create their perfect line-up. Some took it seriously. Some made a joke. I, for one, chose every Hellraiser movie as a house.

I mean he does try his best, I'm sure he's not trying to make movies to see haunted houses being based on them but I'm sure they find their audiences, horror is subjective to people which I totally understand. As for Weeknd I mean it might be honestly a little of both, probably wanting to go in the directions they wanted to do with Eillish possibly and maybe more, would it lead to a return highly unlikely.

Couldn't disagree more. Peele's films are poignant, fun, sharp and, above all, creative as hell, one of the reasons why I love the genre in the first place. The line between horror and comedy is razor thin but it takes a skilled hand to balance both so it's no surprise to me that someone who made their name in comedy kicks ass in making horror films.

I completely agree. Peele's take on horror is orignal, creative and thought provoking. Feels like he is shaking up what was, for a while, a very stagnant genre. Doesn't mean they have to translate to houses, but the films themselves are excellent.

This discussion probably belongs more in the horror movies thread, but I can't imagine that anyone who has seen 'US' would call that a comedy. Does it have comedic elements? Sure. But, they are definitely a faaaaaar second to the horror elements.

i haven’t watched them in a while, but really didn’t feel that at all, definitely felt more like horror to me.I barely remember any comedy in Us, maybe a little here and there, but not much.Get Out is a bit more of a mix but I would still say it’s more on the horror side, I recall it being mostly his friend was big comedic relief. There’s some comedy and levity for sure but also definitely serious horror overall I think.

I've known & been friends with Nightmares for almost 15 years now. I can say with full-stop certainty that while they might not always be 100% correct, they do know what they're talking about. They've been fans of the event for longer than some of us have been alive, and they've been creating content around the event for 20+ years. They have their own faults, but I can say with absolute certainty, that if they're reporting on things they're at least 70% accurate, which is about as good as the weather.

If you don't like their maps, cool don't view them. BUT, if you come to a speculation page they're going to be discussing their maps, because before these were maps these were HHN Speculation List and they had the exact same goal. This sort of leaked speculation has been happening on Vault, Inside Universal, IOAC, DisBoards, HHNRumors, & HNN for years now. It's not exactly going to change.

Kinda sounds counter productive, but I trust the reliable sources who despite putting out speculation maps still get invited to HHN Media because their influence, accuracy, & legitimacy in the space.

And should tamper down the expectations that Stranger Things is DEFINITELY coming....not to mention the Iron Maiden's Eddie house....or Anime Island coming to Universal

But in a day and age where people with different ideological beliefs have different sets of what they consider to be stone cold facts...there's always going to be some people who refuse to allow the chance that their opinions could possibly be wrong and swear that what they WISH to happen is GOING TO happen. Those are the people who were giving HNN $#!+ about their spec map...the people who were outraged that they dared to put pen to paper that ***INSERT IP HERE*** wasn't coming this year. Sources, investigations, facts be damned...it's just obvious that it's not true.

They are very specific in so far as taking the info that HNN has investigated, deduced, updated, and put on the map...and trying to pick out a name for said property that sounds like something HHN would do. Like we've had Urban Legend: xxxxxxxxxxx speculated for years now, like the Tooth Fairy house last year. So it looks like they just took what has been very much accepted as "truth" in terms of speculation, then tried to steal some thunder by putting specific names to them. Other than Nope, which everybody with a proven track record of inside knowledge has shot down, that's all they've done. Assigned official sounding names to generically named houses on HNN's map. They even felt the need to fight back, via twitter, to someone that apparently said their names were too long....which seems to indicate they're defending their guesses versus valid knowledge on the subject. You wouldn't feel the need to defend facts as time would prove you right on it's own.

I couldn’t agree more. The speculation is part of the fun and pumps you up for the event. Besides the fun it’s a necessity for some people. I’m not a local , but I’m a big fan of the event. I’m going no matter what but I can’t say the same for my friends and family. They relay on Nightmares spec. maps to decide if they are spending a vacation at Universal in the Fall. Love the Horror Nightmares does every year!

I just think the overall thought of the spec map in the beginning was nice, it was a fresh idea not so fresh but it got annoying because like you said a bit there, everyone started to make their spec map not like a Wishful thinking one they went full in with spec maps and having a pissing contest and of course many started to believe their own hype because they had someone "in the know", that crap isn't cute. Sit and wait like every other fan of the event, don't spread false hope to people like that, speculation is good but I'll say it again.

I'm not too old but old enough lol that back in my day I didn't need a spec to be excited for an HHN event and have determine whether I travel or not, I bide my time and enjoyed myself even enjoyed Howl O Scream's build, spec maps are getting a bit out of control, just give a break, its not needed every year, do it once in a few years. Back to the event, should be a good decent year.

Why is it a bad take? It's all true and why are you posting in a speculation thread where speculation is not permitted? There are people who know but any real info is not allowed to be posted. It's just a few insiders giving fake 'clues' to drum up views however if you speculate correctly they won't confirm so what's the point? It starts in less than two months and they've announced nothing that would excite anyone so Universal clearly doesn't care if you come or not so why do we?

Turning the conversation back to speculation, if they are indeed going with an original instead of an IP, I stand by my earlier comments by saying I want a Seek & Destroy house. I enjoyed that scarezone and would love a full house based on the Controller and his underlings.

I could scroll all the way back to find what it was exactly you said but it's not really worth it- it's a bad take because you came on a forum, dedicated to a specific part of a specific theme park that is frequented by people that go to a specific event at this park year after year and have decided to troll them with three separate posts. Several people have since told you to chill out because your posts are attacking and inflammatory. Chill. Out.
