So we have been hearing that we wont see soft openings until the TM's have a chance to preview. Is this the case with rides only or do they normally have TM's view shops and restauarants as well? We have newly themed rides... would they offer TM's the opportunity to experience these rides prior to soft opening or are we just looking at the FJ ride for TM previews?

I am hoping that we will see a soft opening of the village with FOTH, DC and a walkthrough on the queue for FJ soon! Since the only real NEW ride is FJ maybe this will be the only ride the TM's will preview?

For those of you "in the know" have we heard any word on TM previews yet?!?!?

I'm not "in the know" but TM previews have been confirmed. As for what they get to preview, no one knows yet. My guess would be the whole island seeing as all of the employess will need practice, not just ride TMs.

wait the entire budget of Wizarding World is 265 million?!?!

that is like nothing compare to Disney stuffs WHY?!??!

Cars Land is like over 300

and in Tokyo DisneySea, the Tower of Terror cost 250 mill

TOT = a entire Harry Potter land.... crazy....

surely of course DD save them alot of Coaster building money.

WOW... is the US economy bad?

one TOT = a land

COME ON UC, do better than this!!!

the Fantasyland expansion is even more!!!!
Spend more money!! Universal! (maybe alot of the budget money went into Transformers ride)

ummm they've actually been able to to a hell of a lot considering everything that is going in to make the HP experience perfect. Covering the entire show building, in my opinion, would be a huge waste of money...as it looks right now, you won't be able to see the show building while you are inside the WW, which doesn't take you away from the story. You can see the show building from JP, however when you're in JP, the show building looks like it belongs in JP...it's all about where you're seeing what. Universal I think has been extremely smart about this, and is able to give us an amazing experience without killing themselves. From my experience on this and many other projects, Universal's been pretty wise about what they're spending their money on (even though they're over budget, but that, many times, is unavoidable hehe).

Wow Psion way to be ungrateful.

Please remember they dropped over 40mil next door just last year on the new HRRR.

The budget is more than enough to pull off what they wanted and then some.

Why would you want them to spend more money than they have to? I'm impressed that they were able to do this for a fraction of a budget that Disney would have used. Disney's new Fantasyland expansion is going to cost too much for what it is. At $265 million, tWWoHP is a steal. Universal should be commended for their fiscal savvy. They are truly getting their money's worth, something I daresay Disney's people cant say with a straight face.

It's most likely because Universal's budget is no where near the size of Disney's. Even then, Universal has already gone over their budget with this project. They spent extra money to make sure everything was perfect.

Are you disappointed in the results? If they could pull this off with a smaller budget than Disney, good for them.

My thoughts exactly.

Yeah, I guess I came off as a douche. hehe :-P

Yeah, is true Disney over spends money, and yes, UC does gt their money worth usually.

I was just ranting for fun.
I love Universal more than Disney at any time.

But aways, wonder, HOW MUCH can you spend.

After experience Tower of Terror in DisneySea Japan,
also the Mysterious Island (if you guys ever been there)
sorry to say Not even Potter land can beat it.

Because the Japanese are too crazy in over spend their money.
The park is so perfect, not a single thing is un-theme or details that you can find that make the park unreal.

This time I thought Universal is going all the way out to atleast beat, DisneySea since they got the best WORLD to recreate.
Still, US does not have the money like the crazy Japanese (Oriental Land Company)

they did their best in spending the 265,
but I always thought they could have went all out, spend like 400 million then kick DisneySea out of the best park in the World rank.
That was my wish. THis was the chance to do it, just wipe DisneySea off from the Chart.

So eventho I am satisfied with the current Potter plan, I really hope, further expansion and adding to the WWOHP would be good.

I know FJ ride will over take Spiderman for the World #1 title of Attraction once is open.

But hey, dont everyone here atleast want to see WWOHP to be the #1 Themed Park (area) in the world??
DisneySea is still rank #1, unbeatable as a themed park. I want it to see it beat.

I WANT WWOHP to be the best. But all love to WWOHP, they still need a few 40million (like someone said)
just that, to really take the World #1 Title.

Personally, I'd ease up on Disney. WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering) is an amazing organization that truly raised the bar in live themed entertainment. Disney has created some pretty spectacular adventures over the years and continues to do so. Yes, there had been a huge dark period under the direction of He Who Should Not Be Mentioned (Michael Eisner), but now that he's gone, Disney is set to once again create magic. Let's all wait and see what the revamping of Disney's California Adventures looks like in a few years, starting with this summer's, World of Color.

I think it's wonderful that we now have Universal competing with Disney on this level of excellence. It only makes both companies work that much harder. I love Islands of Adventure and I am confident that The Wizarding World is going to be a wonderful "magical" edition. But, I will still always love Disney and be a huge fan. My heart is big enough for both companies. (Now, if only my wallet was too!)

Maybe they could cover the show building with an inclined wall with trees getting smaller with the height (forced perspective). Tell me what ou think...

The more one spends on a park addition does not necessarily mean you get a more effective return for your dollar or provide a more satisfying experience. Good on Universal working smart on this one. I think of it like films, the most creative and successful film are sometimes the low budget indi. films while the A lister, big budgets sometimes don't inspire.

Its about being effective in what you do, not what you spend. If FJ and Spidey end up being the most effective dark rides in the world where would that rate IOA park in the world of theme parks??

About Dragons. They've been running 2 trains since it re-opened. Could this mean that the other 2 are being refurbed to look like the Horntail and the Fireball? Speculate.

I've been thinking the same thing. The trains that are not currently in use could already have new skins on them and be sitting in the maintenance bay, ready for the soft opening. It only takes a few minutes to switch the trains out, and I imagine it wouldn't take long to outfit the trains they are currently using with the new skins. I really hope that this is something that happens.

That also seems to be the case in this photo.
I do not know what the source of this is, but I assume it's from the Harry Potter prop exhibition tour.
