Huh. My predictions were way off. I am just very surprised by the placement.

Hyperion won't be touched by current park management either. It's sat empty except for 2 months out of the last 5 years.

I’m actually happy about this. Sounds like the core Hollywoodland will stay but Monsters Inc will be leaving. This is the way it should be IMO

Something I threw together. I'm imagining how they get Avatar to work directly off Hollywood Land, and so I am thinking, perhaps it's something like "Now Presenting: Avatar", and you step through a Hollywood Facade, a movie theatre facade, into the movie. They extend the facade, fully enclosing the street on that side, removing the current entrances into the Hollywood Backlot, building an "enclosed" land, like Nintendo World, a portal into Avatar.

Green arrows for possible entrances / exit. Pink Arrow for maybe an exit from the Philarmagic theatre back onto the street? In this scenario, the world of avatar is preserved and immersive, and you could keep your dining on the streets of Hollywood.

I assume it'll extend out into the bus loop, per the reworked entry.

Even though the announcement didn't mention it, I wonder if Philarmagic will also be going as well. It never drew well at DCA and it seems ideal for a secondary D ticket for the Avatar land.

Hard to know, perhaps in a phase two they would demo the theatre itself, leaving the facade. But could also see them figuring out some purpose for it that isn't Philharmagic, but still based in Hollywood Land.

These types of theater attractions never lasted long at DLR, so Disney will probably want to move away from that. Maybe they could squeeze in a medium sized dark ride or walkthrough attraction.

Same! And shout out to everyone in here who said it’d be in Hollywood.

Also what does Pandora have to do with California

I think they’re keeping it. They have that whole bus plaza to work with now, so why get rid of it when you don’t need to? Besides, it’s wise to keep as many theater venues as you can. The fact that Hyperion is staying shows that they are going for the best case scenario for land placement.

I wonder if Hyperion is eyed for Avengers or a future IP that can be shoved here? Once they finish these projects, DCA will be landlocked until they touch Simba.

At what point does Hollywoodland just get absorbed into Buena Vista Street? There isn't going to be much to it left once the "backlot" area disappears.

I have always been of the belief that the Hyperion would go for a 5th Avengers Campus attraction. With the MCU seemingly pivoting to X-Men and F4, this could be where to do an attraction for them.

Definitely. Seems like Hyperion will remain empty, possible filled with a temporary show in the interim. Once all these new attractions are added in... I don't think DCA needs anything else. A show will be much needed though

What DCA does need is a highly themed family coaster. Something akin to Cosmic Rewind or the Door Coaster going to DHS
