My major question is will Marvel have the balls to keep Gamora dead? I feel like bringing her back would be a bit cheap all things considered.

Honestly, I do see some coming back from the ether, but it won't be like their ressurection will have no consequence.

I imagine the safe-bets are Spider-Man, Steven Strange, Peter, Black Panther, with Drax, Fury, and Mantis (along with Groot).

I do think Gamora is dead, Heimdell is dead, Loki is dead, and Vision is dead (Along with Barnes).

I do see Wanda coming back, but that I think they are going to do something that may make sense, introduce Mutants to the MCU. And so-far, the reason why I believe that is how Dark Phoenix has dropped the X-Men branding and The New Mutants is this far back to where it'd be easy for them to re film the film to eliminate elements of X-Men. And, I don't see them talking about Mutants until a Post Credits scene for A4, similar to how Nick Fury was approached to the MCU back in IM1

That ties into what the Russo Brothers mentioned they were asked to do for a future film after the Fox merger

The only way I could see her possibly returning is if Nebula somehow sacrifices herself/switches places with her. Basically offers her soul in place of Gamora's. Not saying I want that to happen but I could see it as a possibility.

Call me selfish, but I REALLY hope Gamora comes back. Heck, the only deaths I want to be permanent are Loki and Heimdall, the very beginning ones. But I can't imagine a GOTG movie without Gamora.

Honestly, I see Gamora dying and staying dead as something that actually makes sense in the grand scheme, as it could give Peter (if he comes back) drive and passion for what he may do in Volume 3, considering Adam Warlock.

If they bring Wanda back - and I really like her, but think she's underdeveloped - they absolutely need to counter her insane powers with someone that can match her. Back in Civil War, they purposefully kept her out of the huge battle scenes as it would've been completely unfair to anyone she faced.

Oh, and Bucky Barnes is definitely NOT dead. Sebastian Stan signed a 9 picture deal with Marvel. He's nowhere nearly fulfilled that yet.

Barnes ain't gonna stay dead, especially with the next film being Cap's outing.

Cray how my Gamora prediction came true - also I'm willing to bet Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place right after Civil War, not IW.

It was a dark movie, and Spidey's death left me teary-eyed. Definitely a dark film, but I agree with how this is both my favorite and least favorite. It's weird how a movie could feel like a prequel and a stand-alone AND sequel at the same time.

Also kinda crazy how the one thing I didnt think Infinity Gauntlet would adapt (the Thanos ending up on the farm) did.

I didn’t quite understand where Thanos was at the end. I was too busy absorbing everything that was happening. What farm was that? It looked like Titan. How would Him being there put those people out of existence?

The ending scene with young Gamora was in the soul stone. The scene with him on the farm was nowhere in particular but showed that his work on the universe is done. He can finally watch the sunrise

In Infinity Gauntlet after Thanos loses he "retires" so to speak and ends up on a farm and is kept in check by the Avengers until the end of his days. A metaphor for power not lasting forever, but I like how they turned that on its head here.

From what i've heard, A&W will take place before and during IW.

Remember, Ant-Man is on house arrest from the Sokovia Accords, as mentioned in Infinity War.

This is my main worry: now, Gunn said the lineup would change for GotG 3 but man they need to stick with this for the story to have any meaning. Obviously the end is a cliffhanger: you can't kill Black Panther after his film hit the third highest domestic gross in box office history, but Gamora needs to be the sacrifice.

I thought that IW was pure insanity, it mostly acts as a teardown of everything that was built up... sort-of as it's meant to be. The 'arcs' that are focused on are quite unexpected, outside of Thanos and Gamora of course. I guess in that case I shouldn't be surprised that this was basically half a Guardians of the Galaxy film (who supply some much needed levity in places, Drax in particular)... but Vision/Scarlett Witch over Captain America? Yeah he has a stone but man you kind of felt cheated. Even Tony didn't get as much, despite his isolation on Titan and caring for Peter. Of course, I have to imagine this will all come into play with A4... but IW is both what we wanted and yet what we didn't at the same time. I'm just amazed on how breakneck it is, and the ability to be both completely satisfying and not at the same time.

The reward is on the audience for watching every single film. Yet it makes it completely difficult to separate this from anything. At all. There's not a standalone feel from this, even if we were to wait til 2019. Thanos appears right away like a freight train slamming into the deliriously goofy ending of Thor Ragnarok, as if our Netflix just automatically played the next "episode". And yes, this is how the film is designed, and I'm not faulting for that... I'm just surprised how the Russos absolutely refuse to play into cinema convention for newbies. I can't imagine taking a MCU newbie to this, I'd feel incredibly sorry for that person. That's the only thing making me take pause at IW, because for what it's trying to do, it almost nails it... unpredictable, but delivers the goods nonetheless. What a wonderful, intense cliffhanger ending. Either way, I can't wait for 2019.

Also @Nick I believe Ant Man and Wasp takes place before IW at least, as IW only takes place within at the very least three or four days. I can't see them dealing with half of mankind just suddenly vanishing.

But here's the thing, and why I don't buy AM&W being a prequel, they went out of the way to mention that Scott Lang, was still under house arrest by the time Nomad was with Vision/Wanda at Avengers HQ, along with Hawkeye being a fugitive.

Now, the only way I could though, still buy that it's a prequel, if its going to happen Right when Ragnarok begins in New York, which is days before Infinity War. And that Steve, doesn't know what has happened to Scott, Hank, and Hope. And that the ending for that, will be what happens on that end of the spectrum for Thanos wiping half of the universe.

Just my thoughts

It’s a prequel. The trailer shows it so, the producers confirmed it as so.

Watched it last night and I'm blown away. I'm still trying to absorb it all, it was excellent and lived up to the hype.

They also detailed Scotland perfectly with the incredible architecture and a poster in the chip shop window saying ‘we’ll deep fry your kebab’

I thought it has been confirmed this takes place between Civil War and Infinity War?

My bet would be after the AM&W credits, Scott is living with Clint on his farm with Captain Marvel and Clint’s family start to disappear just as Captain Marvel’s pager rings.

Spider-Man’s death was brutal especially since his spider sense knew something bad was happening.

Im fine with the focusing on Vision/Scarlett Witch over Cap as look at all who live... it’s mostly those that we started with from phase 1.

I think Avengers 4 will be THEIR film. This film was Thanos’ film, with Strange, Thor, Guardians, Vision, Wanda, etc starring in this film as the heros.

It’s clear based on how Strange said there was only 1 in 14M+ ways they one that the key to defeating this is Tony Stark. Otherwise he wouldn’t have given up the stone to save Tony’s life.

Also, as to the whole newbie thing... I get that. But Feige has said what makes the MCU successful is that they run it like it’s a TV series. This is a Feige thing, not the Gunn’s I don’t think.

I feel like this is one of those movies that demands to be seen more then once in the theater just so you can fully appreciate it and take it all in.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie that had this many audibly in unison gasps from the audience. Such an amazing experience.

And at the same time they managed to find a way to balance things out with humor in a very organic way. The humor didn’t feel forced.
