We stayed exclusively at Cabana Bay from 2016-2024.

We tried out Stella Nova and Dockside last year. We really liked Stella Nova, and Dockside was fine. But our hearts still belong to Cabana lol

The newer resorts fulfill the purpose of being a clean place to sleep at night, but it just doesn't have Cabana's stellar ambience. I'm hoping we see something similar at the south resort, maybe with the 80s?

This resort's soundproofing is awful. We had a quiet indoor access room facing one of the garages at the back but between 9pm and 1am all we can hear is the bass from next doors TV. Then about 8:30am the automated announcements from Volcano Bay tumble through the windows.

I swear Surfside was quieter. Not that impressed so far.

Do the more expensive resorts have better soundproofing?

To an extent, yes. We also had the bad luck of being in a connecting room once and could hear EVERYTHING that was being said next door.

But honestly, this hotel has fallen off pretty bad. I used to STAN it... have all the merch to prove it and even called it my favorite for a while. But now, it might honestly be one of my last choices to stay on property.

Solution: Stay at Sapphire Falls and walk over to Cabana for all the stuff there! :D

I would happily do this is Sapphire wasn't astronomically more expensive for some reason lol

Although this year, the price difference honestly isn't bad

We ended up asking to be moved as our neighbours weren't checking-out any time soon.

Got moved to a tower facing the pool. Night one and our new neighbours were having a barney (MOD EDIT: foul language) to the point we felt we had to call security in case there was a domestic incident going on.

And the air con wasn't working, so needed a repair job.

And today we come back from a long day at Busch Gardens to no hot water.

The staff have been amazing so far (shout out to Engineer Elvis & Guest Services DJ) but the actual resort and clients less so. I'm not sure we'll be staying here again.

Would love to. Think the significant other is more of a fan of the 2br suites at Endless though.

Now got a beeping cherry picker outside at 22:52. Don't know if to laugh or cry. Probably the latter seeing the wife is having an insomniatic breakdown.

Sorry to hear that. I didn’t have anywhere near the kind of problems you’re having when I stayed a couple years ago, but I was also unimpressed by the room we were in. We’ve stayed at the DoubleTree across the street the last couple trips which, while obviously not fancy, has nicer rooms than Cabana Bay for less money.

Of course, you literally can’t beat CBBR for location if you love Volcano Bay… and we do.

We've stayed at Cabana annually since 2016 and have never had any issues to this level - some minor things here and there (namely the air con needing to be repaired in our room).

But we might just be really lucky lol

We've had close to a hundred nights at Cabana since it opened....including two weeks last month. The only issue we've ever experienced is that the safes have had low batteries a couple of times and didn't work. But we've had that same issue at WDW hotels and Portofino....

CBBR has a lot of value and amenities (On site location, transportation to parks, two giant pools, lazy river, Hot/Jacuzzi tubs, Cabanas, two pool bars/restaurants, food court, Starbucks, Bowling Alley/Restaurant, Malt shoppe, Early Park Entry, walking distance to parks and Sapphire water taxis), in relation to the price of generally $140 to $200 a night for a standard room during most non holiday weeks with the Stay More or AP discounts. .

Sorry to hear you having these issues.

I also have stayed at CBBR many times and never had any huge issues. Sure I have had little issues here and there but I either call and get it fixed or just don’t bother with it. My biggest problem was when I forgot my wallet in my room after going down at 10:00pm to get a soda in my refillable cup. My room key was in my wallet and so was my ID, so I couldn’t just get a new room key and had to wait for security outside my room. That was my fault though :lmao: and once they got there it was easy.

Honestly the worst thing that happened to us in 10 years was our room keys not working when we got back from HHN, lol. Called the front desk and they were there in like 10 minutes though, easy!
