I assume you're taling about the track. It's black with gold rails. I absolutely love the colors! I wonder what color the supports will be. Maybe they'll be different colors to make them more decorative like in that one concept art piece.

In the concept art, it shows that the supports look like big pieces of bambu with banners on them.

Well that's never been done before! I wonder if, assuming that's not just a filler, the supports will be actually textured or will just be painted to look like bamboo. I really hope they pull out all the stops like this. If they do, it might be somewhat of a follow-up to WWoHP, at least in the coaster community. It's at least going to be better that that Fantasyland nonsense...

As far as the track color being black, AWESOME! With all the other color in the area this predator coaster stalking its prey so to speak is just...just...:hail:

I hope it ends up being more yellow then black or at least a little yelow. Vibrant colors are a key part of African culture, so BG should make it BRIGHT to keep up with the theme.

Painting has to be one of the last steps, in that picture they are still welding.

Agreed. I'm thinking this isn't a warehouse at BGT, but rather Intamin's manufacturing plant here in the states (unsure of its exact location). While I don't know much about Intamin's installation process, B&M track is (I believe) always painted before it is shipped. Judging by the fact that these track pieces are still in a bit of a gritty condition (look at those joints) and construction at BGT hasn't even gone vertical yet (many supports would be installed before any track), this is most likely a manufacturing plant and not the final color.

I suppose BGT could want to paint the track in-house, but look at pictures of fresh B&M track from the Ohio plant (occasional pictures can be found on Screamscape). It's always beautiful and glossy. Even a black color would have a great shine. This is just track pieces completely welded. Anyone with coaster knowledge would recognize the Intamin quad-rail track. It's for teasing, not final presentation. It's not uncommon in the least for park representatives to visit their "baby" being assembled at the plant. :blank:

I'd still like it if the color scheme was black with gold rails. It'd provide nice contrast to the bright colors in the concept art.

I could certainly see that happening, though I bet BGT will stick more with a burnt orange, gold, or somewhere else in the yellow spectrum. I'm guessing somewhere between the yellow of Wicked Twister or the orange of Expedition GeForce. Though they could surprise us and go a totally different direction.

I say yellowish not only because of a cheetah's fur, but because if you look at the BGT lineup: Montu is blue, Kumba is green, SheiKra is red.

I would think it ships painted or powder coated.
When I watched the show Build It Bigger, the Griffin sections were already painted when they were assembling the track.

I, also, believe the track hasn't been painted yet. Of course, we'll find out when track arrives (which I believe is right around the corner).

EDIT: RCDB now lists the new coaster at Busch Gardens! Check it out:

A little past halfway down this shows Manta's track being fabricated. The welding is done to naked steel, then it's spray painted, or at least that's how B&M does it. I imagine the process is similar for Intamin. But since the picture of Cheetaka's track clearly shows black track with golden rails, I have a feeling that's the way it's going to stay.

Those rails aren't golden, thats just the lighting. No way would he be welding painted rails. I am like 99.9% sure black will not be in the color scheme for this coaster.
