Odd Universal doesn't run the show often, way better than its predecessor.

In 2019, they ran the show 100 times between January-May (including Mardi Gras event dates). There's a few dates in 2019 where they ran Super Star at 2PM, Mardi Gras at 7:30PM and then Cinematic.

This year, they've only run CineSational 49 times.

Great show. Very poor operational decisions. And....they wonder why they don't get big crowds. Maybe, it's because they're so 'INCONSISTENT' scheduling it. They do it bad....like they do the Potter night shows.

FINALLY caught CineSational last night! What a wonderful show. Cannot overstate how lovely the music is. It’s not quite World of Color level (the fountain choreo is kinda bland) but it’s still a fantastic time and the Can’t Stop the Feeling sequence really shines.

EDIT: I can testify to the crowd last night being pretty slim — I’ve definitely seen stronger crowds from DCA in the off-season.

This show is awesome, even without the drones. Crowds seemed big - bigger than past shows like this at least.

That said, didn’t even know about it until it was mentioned in Minions Mayhem , and tonight just happened to see a sandwhich board sign just outside Central Park around 8:00.

I was told that the pyrotechnics crew just took a hit-- several people were told they can no longer do the pyro due to a new U.S. government regulation. Not wanting to make this a political discussion, but it was a new policy rolled out by the current administration which affected several people who have been doing pyro for Universal for years...

I saw something I took as a positive sign regarding the drones.

You're not the first person whose said this. I'm interested in how often this happens and how many guests aren't aware of the show. The sporadic nature of the schedule probably doesn't help.

When Cinematic Celebration ran, they had a problem with guests lining up around the lagoon versus in the proper viewing area. Most of them didn't know the show was happening until it started, so they ended up viewing it from the Louies-Richters & Transformers waterfront, not realizing that the show isn't meant to seen from there.

For Cinesational, they improved lighting in the Central Park area to make it easier for people to understand. I'm hoping Epic is a success so Universal is convinced to run the show far more consistently.
