I'd guess those things are related. Good movie! But did not gain any serious traction. I can't imagine it's on the table for a theme park attraction unless they produce a sequel that makes a lot more money.

The Bad Guys 2 does come out this year so anything is possible.

Everyone, go see it lol.

Bad Guys 2 suffered from post/still during covid theatre fatigue. People didn’t want to go and bring kids out as much. I’m hoping sequel does well.

Bad Guys was a fun movie. I guess it earned a lot after it's theatrical run with digital sales or rental (just like that Trolls movie that was released during Covid).

Well, I do get your point. USF has been kind of a mess as of late. I do think that the two afformentioned projects in my response above will at least be somehwat of an improvement. I do kinda get how the past two additions were kinda “improvement in theme only”, but it’s not like they were much better in theme before, so there’s at least that. Bourne was good though. That’s an improvement at least too. And Coaster + Pokémon should probably be good. So it’ll at least be better. There are things that still need to be eventually fixed (Fallon, fear factor) but i think those aren’t really big priorities.

One thing i worry about is supercharged. I can 100% see them being lazy and keeping the bus ride system. I hope they dont. I wonder what they’ll even use as the IP?

Alright, this was originally an edit, but the text content became way too big and I decided to make it a different post. Apologies for my many long winded postings today.

On fnf probably closing soon, Here are my thoughts on what the replacement will look like: I dont think they are gonna license a NEW IP for this space’s replacement. Maybe ones they already have the rights too. Don’t seem them seeing this as a HUGE enough project to warrant that spending, unless there is some amazing idea they have. I dont think this will be a big “All in marketing bonanza” type of addition. It’ll probably use the same building at the very least, if not the ride system itself. The building is huge. Could do a lot with it. And also, there is the matter of what becomes of San Fran, because i feel like the area will 99% see at least some change with the new addition. That being said, here are my top general thoughts of what IP’s they could use for a FNF replacement.
  • Wicked: Film is a runaway hit, with huge merchandising. While i would prefer a land, with how much merchandising potential the franchise has, I also wouldn’t be surpised if they tried to rush it into existence by replacing FNF. Dunno how they’d make it work with San Fran’s existing structures
  • Any IP “classic” featured in Cinesational and Mega Movie parade, together or seperate. REASON: with how much these classic ip’s have been used the past couple years, It’s not unlikely that the use of one of them is’nt at least on the table in some form. Could retheme the area to New York or something else. Would be a big crowd pleaser too. I mean, the merch sells, right? Also they were talking about ghostbusters for a show so maybe they could use that? Chase around ghosts on the streets of New York in an “EctoBus?” Back to the future could work as a bus ride? Jaws would work good in the “seaside” area of amity? Usually, I would dismiss these thoughts as “copium”, but after the events of the past few years, I honestly think it has at least SOME sort of “shot” of potentially happening here, or somewhere else on any sort of permanent scale.
  • Harry Potter: london is right next door, they could easily retheme the existing structures to London on the cheaper side than some other properties, and if they wanted too, could easily use the existing ride system for the knight bus, as spectulated. GP would hundo percent eat it up, and you know it.
  • Wild, unreasonable guess: Twisters. Why the hell not? I mean, you could use the “party bus” as a storm chasing bus?

Hmmm....The Ecto Bus gets caught in a Twister on it's way to OZ, and a time warp sends it Back to the Future where it sinks into the lagoon and is surrounded by Jaws like Sharks that only eats The Family members, until the bus is rescued by a swimming King Kong grand finale.......Take that Universal Creative ;) :D

Genuine question, assuming you gut the building and remove the bus tube, what type of ride system can you realistically fit in that building in its specific shape as is?

The building is quite large. The 360 projection area isn't large. But the warehouse garage showcase/queue and other ride areas occupy a lot of space. I'd think it could house most any dark ride idea they'd come up with. The building itself is relatively new.

If they do as we all hope and do that, i wonder what type of ride they’d go for? Omnimover? Scoop again? Idk, but I hope it’d be set based. Let’s hope it may actually go.

How about Hill Valley, Courthouse square.

Gut the building and put a next gen scoop or indy system designed to look like delorean, mostly driving around... travelling through time, ala part 1. Grand finale flying through time.

Instant classic.

So what’s the thrill level expected to be on this? Similar to Velocicoaster, top 10 in the US level? Or more like a Disney coaster?

I remember when it first opened in Hollywood. I had never been to the park but me and my dad would be in California all the time and I would see the ads/banners for Supercharged everywhere and I wanted to ride it so bad. I'm pretty sure 14 year old me thought it was a rollercoaster lmao. If only I knew

I'm talking about Supercharged... you know, the thread that we're posting in right now. I'm not from the future unfortunately

Edit: I was specifically talking about the Hollywood version of Supercharged before it opened in Orlando. When I would see all the ads for it I assumed it was a rollercoaster.

With the news that the Hollywood counterpart is closing in a couple weeks, I wonder how long till Orlando's closes too...

I wonder if we’ll get a clone of whatever replaces Hollywood’s or if we’ll get something original. I’d like to see the direct studio tour transplants done away with. They worked for Jaws, Kongfrontation, and even Skull Island, but Supercharged takes an exact clone from Hollywood and brings it over here as an “E Ticket.” They only work if upgraded and fleshed out.

I think it’ll be telling to see whether Hollywood builds something unique in its place or just rethemes the 360 tunnel.

Will be very interesting to see how soon USH's replacement comes online after F&F closes. If they are in fact keeping the 360-tunnel, the only major thing to do after March 10th would be retheming the exterior (probably a month's worth of work) and re-calibrating the ride system & testing.

So for USF, it's a matter of waiting to see initial reactions and determining if its worth the investment to have it ready for next year?
