Imagineering has a place within their facilities where you can basically experience the rides in sort of a “pre-viz” type of way to use a film term.

He’s probably been to Imagineering and experienced this.

I doubt they’re cycling trains, but the track has been done for quite some time. It’s the scene they’ve still got to do I believe. The queue is nowhere close to done.

I'm assuming that they've done some kind of push through even if not with the real trains.

I will say the guy I know at WDW has always said this was "big" and "huge" which I know is generic but idk ride could be fun but I'm still not sold on expecting it to be anything extraordinary, but still will probably be a blast

I honestly have pretty high expectations, what with the backwards launch, massive showbuilding, and Disney’s track record with coasters. They don’t go above a certain intensity threshold, but they’re damn good at making them fun within those limits.

It’s just going to continue to be a giant sigh that it’s in Epcot and not DHS or Tomorrowland.

Why? Hollywood Studios already has a coaster, and Tomorrowland will soon have two.

Im expecting a more coaster-like ride version of Gringotts but with the Guardians. Everything described to me, and even just seeing the ride vehicles makes me think of this as a plussed Gringotts.

Ok, what if the backward launch is through a hole in the bottom center on a large domed screen. Similar to being launched backwards through the screen in Gringott's.

The opening scene would be the scene with a Groot AA and a screen with Rocket outside piloting the Milano. All of that is in front of you. The big domed screen that is above and behind you is showing the inside of the room that you and Groot are in blending seamlessly to the real set. Someone, activates the Neural Teleportation Network, and starting directly behind you and moving forward, the whole room starts to turn transform into this.

450

Just as the NTN gets directly above/to the side of the train you launch backwards into the network. The swirling with lightening projections continues around you through the launch tunnel into the big dark gravity building where things get weird.

The swirling projection continues around you through the launch tunnel into the big dark gravity building where things get weird.

Because Guardians of the Galaxy has nothing to do with Epcot, but could be made to fit in Tomorrowland or DHS very easily.

Are you implying that Future World still has a theme that’s worth defending?

Disney is about to litter Marvel across all its parks, so what's the difference.

If anyone can give me a TL;DR about the ride and what 's so special that would be really appreciated. Is it digital screens with not much sets or more similar to any coaster disney has made before

It's really hard to say, the most stand out features are the rotating vehicles, like Gringotts; a backward launch; and simulating flying through space. They've been very secretive on this ride.

Hopefully they choose more unique songs than the ones they chose for Mission Breakout.

Notable insiders on other sites have kept much of what they know about this attraction close to the vest, but none of them have sounded particularly excited by what they know.

Minimal sets and no AAs have been tacitly confirmed by said insiders. It appears as though it's just going to be another "coaster in the dark" with projections/screens and a few modest frills (like the backwards launch).

It's a backwards launch going uphill though, so I don't expect it to be all that intense at all. That will intentionally slow it down.

That severely undersells the attraction.

I mean, that's good to hear! I can only operate based on what I've seen others talking about, and I think I fairly characterized what I've heard. I'll be pleased if that turns out to be incorrect (though not as pleased as I'd be if this were in a different park).

And I'm certainly open to hearing any pertinent details you might be aware of!
