I've been going to the first three weekends for the last 7 years, last year was the first time that I was not able to do everything in one night. It was majorly more crowded in September than the previous years.

I can get things done, I'm not worried about that. It's truly about planning and with the way I've been going it's second nature to me. If you do plan on going to HHN for your first time you're either going to need to do Stay and Scream or get an Express. Considering you'll probably be at Universal prior, I would go the Stay and Scream route.

I don't care what anyone says, waits have been at the events since it's inception. My first year, 2006, I waited 2 hours for Psycho and only saw 3 houses that night. This was the opening Saturday of the event, too. If you're here looking at information than you've already taken the biggest step in improving your experience.

Agreed I've been going for like what 12 years and I remember seeing houses like the original Scream House, Psychoscarapy, Hell Gate, Body Collectors, Castle Vampyr, and even duds like Cold Blind Terror and Evilution hitting 120, 180, and even 210 min waits on peak and "non" peak nights. Planning ahead and asking those who have gone for years gives you the best chance of completing the event without express even on peak nights.

Exactly. Saw consistently was at 2 hour waits, and I heard stories of ScaryTales 3 getting up to 3 hour waits. If it was getting 3 hour wakes in the worst of the recession when everyone was claiming the event was empty than don't be surprised when we're getting 2 hour waits throughout the event.

People usually like to chime in that Busch doesn't get waits, but I went on a night that Tampa kids had school of the next day and saw waits hitting 60-90 minutes. With both events if you don't go on peak nights you can do what you'd like for the event, or pay for a more premium experience.

^ I paid for the VIP tour for my wife and I at our first year at Howl O Scream. The longest wait we saw was 10 mins  But in all fairness there were other nights with huge waits.

Yup. By doing Stay & Scream you should be able to hit all the houses rather easily if you're willing to marathon through them.

I will say that I agree with most.. last year was my 6th year attending and it was definitely the craziest I've seen it. No complaints though. Still saw everything and had a great time.

It's truly the best thing to do if you can't do previews or Stay and Scream. Perhaps when the main page goes live again, a link to the article can be posted? (Assuming it still exists.)

Now if you go this route wont you run into crazy waits at the SS houses by the time you make it over there?

In the history I've gone to the event, last yr ranks as one of the busiest I've seen it since 2007.. I even talked to ppl who has worked at the event since 94 and they said last yr was NUTS..

If you get a FFP or FFP+ hit the houses early in the run, by the middle just take your time walking around the event.. Hell if your part of LT then by the second weekend the in park games will start up and you'll be busy with that.

I've NEVER bought an express for the event, I've been back doored, handed an express ticket from PR, and RIP but I've never bought an express ticket

Yes, but those lines end up being lengthy regardless of when you go. What a lot of the typical event-goers do is hit the first thing they see, which in this case is the soundstages. On top of this, for those who come at gate-opening, by then the soundstages are already putting Stay and Scream guests through. It's basically the same logic that contributes to the long wait times at DM. Besides the fact that it has a low capacity, it's also one of the first things that park guests see when they walk in.

Don't think it'll happen, but........wouldn't it be awesome to have the stay and scream in the Springfield area as well as Finnegan's? They'd have multiple bars and multiple places to eat. I always get the FFP and go mostly on Sindays. I get to Finnegans early to pregame and then hit a few houses before the crowds get insane. My friends and I will only do houses with less than a 30 min wait. So if it gets busy, we either find a bar to hit up or just head home early. It'd be pretty sweet to be able to pregame in Springfield....

I always make it a point to do the stat and scream and almost always hit those sound stage house first. Last year we made it thru the sound stage houses just as they opened the front gate so we missed that rush of people. We hustled and made it through all the houses well before 9. Only problem with going commando style is we rushed around so much that you kinda of lose the enjoyment of the event since your speeding thru trying to make it thru all the house.

You will probably have to go and pick up a ticket before hand.

You should have gotten a voucher in the pack with the free water vouchers. You can redeem it at any of the ticket counters in City Walk or the parks as long as you know what date you wanna go.

I haven't purchased the pass (the cash is sat in the bank) been hanging on to get the longest length possible. Being from the UK I don't want an active pass before I arrive as I am hoping to get Sept 13, April 14 and Aug/Sept 14 out of it. My Disney AP is paid for and I have card which I can exchange on the day of my first visit does Uni do similar? and if so how do I stand for getting AP discounts on hotels, Express passes etc before I leave the UK?
